please Stone, I’m begging u, get Wood and EG outta here I will speed through traffic to get them to the airport Reeko flying through the streets with EG and Wood in the back…skrrt skrrt I would let Wood ride shotgun, but he looks like the type to start messing with the music and spill his drink
Ahhh the days when we patiently waited for the best possible deal we could obtain on the day of the deadline. Sssh millennials. Too impatient
More than just millennials unfortunately. That being said, I think we are going to get hosed at the deadline. I think we keep Wood and Gordan to Phoenix for a load of crap.
Shane Battier & Ish Smith traded to Memphis for DeMarre Carroll, Hasheem Thabeet & a 2013 1st round pick Rockets traded that 1st to Minnesota as part of a draft day deal for D-Mo Minnesota traded that 1st to Golden State Golden State traded that 1st to OKC That 1st was Andre Roberson Rockets waived Carroll a month after the trade; later signed him when he was 33 years old and washed Rockets traded Hasheem a year later with Jonny Flynn and a 2nd for Marcus Camby Aaron Brooks traded to Phoenix for Goran Dragić & a 2011 1st round pick Rockets officially unofficially drafted Nikola Mirotic with that 1st Remember that other 1st above traded for D-Mo? So was Mirotic. Rockets traded Mirotic as part of a draft day deal for D-Mo. Minnesota traded him to Chicago. Dragic played one more year in Houston before taking his Dynex back to Phoenix because Morey wouldn’t give him a player option; Rockets signed Jeremy Lin instead Nikola Mirotic, Brad Miller, Chandler Parsons & a 2013 1st round pick (Andre Roberson) to Minnesota for Jonny Flynn, Donatas Motiejūnas & a 2012 2nd round pick Long story short, it led to D-Mo, Lin & Parsons, @Os Trigonum ’s favorite Rockets legends™
“Elsewhere in the buyout market, Paul Millsap, Tristan Thompson, D.J. Augustin and Tomas Satoransky have been categorized as likely candidates to become free agents.” https://bleacherreport.com/articles...s-become-best-player-likely-dealt-at-deadline
At first i was like $10 mil over 4 years isn't horrible... then i looked up his contract. Someone needs to give that dude's agent an award or something.... oh, its Rich Paul, nvm... lol, Lebron did this all to himself 100% completely (granted, he got a chip in LA out of it already)
What's happened to the Lionhearts brought up on stress from games like Call of Duty and Halo? Guess most of our kids are playing Candy Crush or Solitaire? Asking us old timers if the playoffs (last time we were in the PO's) use to be this stressful? Now they don't even want to be in the playoffs, less we lose. Oh my......we have to stack the deck or let's don't try. _________________ Gordon is needed by a contender somewhere Nwaba as well for 3 & defense help guarding a 2 or 3 Augustin is serviceable as a backup PG for a contender Wall/Houston is probably the only option to bail out the Lakers. Nobody wants WB. Theis is known as a decent to fringe starting big man outside of Houston fandom. Wood may finally see Houston is his best option. I mentioned Miami would have to decide on one max contract and that he and Oladipo would have to fight for it. Then all of a sudden he wants to stay. Sees that with Wall and Gordon coming off the books soon.....Houston may have that money for him? Players of 6 years or less in the league get about $28 to $30 million per year (max money). He is the ideal Small Ball Center. So I don't mind; but the Rockets shouldn't spoil him any further. A roster next season of: Porter jr / Green / Tate / Banchero or Jabari Smith or Chet / Wood works for me. Sengun fans will be mad; but oh well.
I have to think it helps a little bit. Because of all the teams in need of guard/wing help, you have to think the Pelicans were the one team Eric was least likely to get traded to given his history with that franchise. So it takes CJ off the board and eliminates a team from trade consideration that was never very likely in the first place. With CJ and Levert gone, it feels like Gordon is one of the last few impact scoring guards left.
Just a bunch of bodies tbh. Nothing special, if I’m a Blazers fan I’m hoping for a future first at the very least.
