I'd like another top 10 pick if possible.

Tate struggles alongside none shooters like Sengun and Green.

2 players who just happen to be Rockets cornerstone for near future.

And Wood depends on Tate to defend traditional centers. And at 6'4 with 6'8 wingspan is a mismatch.

I don't think Tate is at his best next to these particular players.

Well. You can’t be right all the time. ;)

How can your two cornerstone players not be able to shoot while playing less than average defense too?

He rarely swings the ball, is too short to play PF, and spent all summer trying to improve 3 pter (didn’t work). He can be a decent role player off the bench, because of his dawg attitude and pretty good defense on not too tall forwards and SG’s. If you can bundle him with something to get a first in the teens you do it or a lightly protected future frp from a team with a crappy future.

    I want Myles Turner.

Would trade Wood or Tate for Turner.

    They're not MY cornerstone players.

    They are Stone's.

I prefer long skilled TWO way players.

And I would rather trade the future FRP for all Star caliber talent that can help now but Stone doesn't have a clue how to do that.

Our pick this year,Yes unprotected. Give it to you raw, like the Wu plus whatever pick we get for Gordon plus Garuba plus Wood
For Jason Taytum, Williams + Horford

Taytum will be just 4 years older than the incoming rooks.

    Sengun/Horford
    Tate/Robert Williams
    Taytum/Kmart
    Green/Josh
    KPJ /Josh

Celtics want to blow it up, here is your chance. Offering you a deal of a lifetime. But wait there is more, if you act now
you'll get some boxed moochie Norris bobble heads.

The Brooklyn nets win the lotto and the selection goes to the Rockets.

He’s got foot problems and I don’t get the love for the guy. He goes hard for one quarter then disappears.

Best shot blocker in the NBA.

Has led NBA for 2 straight seasons.

Rockets need a true rim protector and longer better post defender.

And Turner also a spacer on offense so can play alongside either Sengun or even Wood.

His injuries and weak rebounding are only reason a young talented player like Turner is even available.

Plus he and Domantas are best at the same position, center. And Pacers just drafted Isaiah Jackson who plays almost exactly like Turner.

I'm not an Oracle, I cannot see the future especially one so murky with an inefficient unproductive undersized inconsistent player that the Rockets organization is relying on to be the franchise player .... in 3-5 years.

    Maybe.

In other news, Jaygup has been killing it coming off the bench.

But no one is expecting him to carry Rockets to championship contention. Much more reasonable expectations.

EGo for Turner would be a pleasant surprise.

But Wall not going anywhere, maybe not even with MULTIPLE picks attached.

Yeah welcome to drafting 4 19 year olds. Adding that to a bunch of guys that get significant playing time with averaging out to less than a 100 games played. Way less if you average out starts. If I had to guess the Rockets will have another 3 picks in the next two seasons that average together at about the 7th pick. Two of those will rely on luck as to positioning. A third may come from a consolidation of assets.

Then you go all in your "now now now" once the picks convey to the Thunder. I believe it would be pretty dumb not to pick as high as you can for the seasons you keep your picks which also coincides with Wall's contract.

Those 2-3 picks, Green, Sengun etc etc etc will amount to something I don't know what obviously. They will sign someone bigish in free agency. The team will assess where they are, then decide if they should hold onto the picks from the Nets or if they should package them for a young top 30 player to go with the free agent they sign and all of the hopefully improving youth the team has.

This was all obvious at least 9 months ago.

Nothing I said, or even proposed, advocated giving up any future top 10 picks.

Plus his rebounding numbers seem to go wayyy up when Sabonis is out (obviously) so I don't even think he's a horrible rebounder.
Am concerned about his foot though. I've had him in fantasy a few times (including this year) and he misses a tonn of games

I agree this strategy has been obvious from the get go. However, way too many fans on this forum want to trade us into mediocrity for a decade. That being said I would trade for a young rim protector if available like Myles Turner even with his foot problems. I’d give up a hell of a lot for Patrick Williams. The only pick I wouldn’t give up for a near all-star vet is this year’s. These kind of trades would fit with our youngsters and accelerate the re-build.

Rockets are seriously running out of trade partners for Gordan. I’m not sure they really want to trade Wood, but I put together this trade with Toronto who is charging hard in the East and has a very good starting five and needs bench strength.

    Tor: Gordan, Wood
Hou: Precious, Boucher (expiring), Dragic (expiring) 2024 FrP(top 10 protected).

Precious is fast improving PF with 3 yrs at 2.7M left on contract which would be greater than a middlin FRP. So in effect the Rockets would get the two FRP’s they are looking for. Toronto gets the bench strength they need.

that’s a good one, but I think we should be able to get a bit more. no protection on the pick. + a 2nd rounder.

Thanks. Would hope for a little more, but Toronto has a great FO and think they realize the Rockets are pretty much out of options. Looks like to me Wood stays and Gordan goes to Phoenix for a really sh*ty frp and Saric plus fillers.
