Started this game with ball in his hands a lot. Had 3 assists in the first 5 minutes and that was it. Off the heels of a 5 assist game. Something to build on.
My question is, if he’s so fast with his feet, how come he can’t keep up with his man on D? White and Primo got step on him for scores, but most embarrassingly Dougie McD (???) out-ran him at 0:47… I mean, where’s your speed if you can’t keep with Dougie effing McD? Use it!!!
Silas mentioned that he ran more plays with Green last game(the 5 assist game). The 3 assists that Green got this game weren’t because he was making reads- he just wasn’t open so he passed to someone who immediately took a shot or made a move. The answer is, Silas needs to give the team more structured offense because these young kids aren’t able to play free form just yet.
He can do that too, but now is the time to put the ball in his hands and see what he can do. They should involve him more in all of those ways. I want him shooting a lot more than 10 shots a game
No it is not....reward him when he shows efficiency...you don't give the guy the ball until he has earned it. If he shot more - we would be even worse....and with our team's drafting ability - that is not a net positive. DD
Explain, KPJ earned the spot last year, went to the Gleague for a while then came up and had a nice end to the season. DD
Jalen Green is one of the worst passers on the team - maybe even in the NBA. Why on earth would we have to gain by letting him run the offense?
To be clear, my somewhat knee jerk reaction was not about Green. Definitely more of a 2 guard. Response was more to do with team philosophy. Decision making and management of the roster or lack thereof. For example, starting or benching players when deserved.
See? That's why I'm torn on this. There's no question that letting Green run the offense would mean the Rockets never win another game, which would be awesome, but it also punishes everyone else on the team, which is bad. The worst part is that it wouldn't even pacify his delusional cult....they'd still lash out and attack everyone else associated with the franchise in order to excuse Green's current shortcomings as a player. Hell, they'd probably blame Silas for allowing him to run the offense when he wasn't ready, saying it was sabotaging his development. You simply can't take the cultists seriously.
