Not sure what the tweet is supposed to imply. "Aging player misses more games than he did when he was young" isn't exactly mindblowing. If you're Morey, you'd think about it. Even though Embiid is still young, GMs around the league probably want to buy low for Simmons, leaving you with limited options. If Harden is on the market, he instantly becomes the best piece / player you can trade for, most likely. If the 'gamble' on Harden doesn't work out this year, there's always next year. And if you don't win it next year, Harden becomes a $47M expiring contract that allows you financial flexibility. Hell, Harden might even sign for less years and less money just to stay with Embiid, allowing you to bolster your roster. FWIW, Simmons' contract lasts for 3 more seasons after this one. If teams don't want him now or are otherwise unwilling to part with good assets now, what makes Morey think teams will want him next season, or the seasons after that?
The tweet was explicitly sharing the fact that Harden has missed nearly as many games in one year than he has since 2009. What anyone wants to infer from that fact is their prerogative. Aging players do tend to miss more games, but did Harden suddenly reach some age threshold after 2020 which changed him from an ironman for over a decade to injury prone? Conversely Harden's injuries the past year could just be bad luck or an aberration rather than predictive of his future. Harden is only under contract for 1 more year after this and that is a player option. Whether he stays or is traded or leaves as a FA next season, Harden is 99.9% going to sign a new contract or extend his existing one. The most he can get is somewhere around 5/270. As for Morey and the prospect of trading for Harden, IMO the deal would and should be done if it were available. Trading a disgruntled Simmons and a few other assets for Harden is a no brainer.
I'm hoping for a NETS vs BUCKS first round series. It might be the best 1st round matchup in the history of the NBA.
I get you cant resist sucking giannis off but the bucks are probably one of the worst championship teams of all time. They were down 2-0 to the nets with just kd and kyrie and then embarrassed themselves again by losing yet another game to kd and harden on 1 hamstring
Real talk I saw one poster on here after the Buck won a champion(in a thread in the GARM btw) say that Giannis represents the "Houston spirit" lmao, my goodnesss....
Are you implying Brooklyn can beat or even compete with The Bucks, this year.... Not last year... This year... Harden always conveniently gets injured, either way the results are the same healthy or actually injured...
sure how you gonna say its trash, when perimeter players of the past all benefitted from weak ass touch fouls -------------- the league changed the rules because the nets big 3 was the greatest nba offense in history

Always knew he was a fatty that loves sweets. anyway it's never too late to start a diet, just look at CP
I don't really understand Nash's rotations. The few times I've watched the nets I feel like Bembry is a solid player for them. He is exactly what they need in a tough defender to go with the big three but for some reason he barely plays.
