Wilt already worked out a lot. That guy was as strong and as fast as any athlete today. Ted williams was as scientific about hitting as anyone today. Tom brady is 6-4 and played college football and was drafted in the MLB. That is already more athletic than 99% of the population.

Wilt was a freak athlete that would be elite in any generation, but just simple things like his shoes and nutrition would have made him even better.

I wouldn't attempt any sport in the low or high top -- I can't believe they played pro ball in those things. Yao wouldn't have made it through his rookie season if he had to wear those shoes.

He had perfect vision (literally) and all he cared about was hitting a baseball.

    Best hitter ever.

Pretty much anyone who makes it to the upper echelons of most sports is going to be freakishly athletic. The most out of shape NBA player at the end of the bench can likely still faster and can out jump most of the people at Y court. The third string right tackle of an NFL team is likely going to be able to outlift most people at Lifetime fitness.

That's not sports science, at all. He had 20/10 vision, better than perfect. That, talent and dedication.

I had 20/13 vision when I was younger. It's not sports science. It's luck and genetics.

Marcos Baghdadis, Andy Ruiz, CC Sabathia.

On the other end of the spectrum, Kevin Martin. He was 6-7 and weighed like 170.

He wrote a book called science of hitting. He basically did a lot of analytics before the modern day. He broke down the strike zones into zones and only swinging at pitches that would result in more hits.
