    Wood aint going anywhere, carnales.

I guess you have to go find someone who hides his flaws, that was the belief with Theiss . So someone who hides his flaws but doesn't clog the paint for the back court. Cheeeet.
    C/Sengun.
    PF/Chet.
SF/Wood. Did I just agree with that other thread. yikes.

    Or send them 5M too.

Or package Wood in addition to Levert, Wall and Tate.

Or give them 2 FRP + 2 swaps.

There are multiple ways to do this.

Tried to warn everyone, Stone sees Wood as a foundation piece.

    Same as KPJ and Green.

Stone does not have Morey's ability see the Multiverse, myriad optionality of championship combinations.

Neither of Stone's 3 foundation pieces are capable of winning a ring, not anytime soon.

Too many people think he is too old for our rebuilding window. That's just crazy and short-sighted. He's perfect. We should be all in for a Championship within 4 years. He would be in his prime at 30. He's the kind of guy you pay to make the hustle plays and defensive stops on a Championship team.

Pretty disheartening to see but hopefully they’re not actually serious

It was me who originated the idea of playing Wood as a wing instead of a 4 or 5 - the OP of that thread @Hemingwayand I had a discussion on the topic a few days before he created that thread. He just realized it wasn't crazy while watching Wood defend Curry on the outside ....

It's not as crazy as it seems.

If you watch Wood - he's a mismatch for just about anyone on the offensive end - big guy he'll go by, small guy he will shoot over. He's very much like a poor man's Durant on the offensive end - but not as good a passer.

He's also a fairly good defender on the perimeter, regardless of what position he's defending. With his length he can keep even the quickest of guards in front of him and can contest at the outside shot too.

Where he and this team fail is protecting the paint / rim. He's just not willing to do it .... there have been countless times this season where he's refused the rotation onto a big and left someone like Tate or EG to defend 7 footers .... in the paint.

The lineup of Wood , Theis / Sengun & Tate doesn't work as neither Tate, Theis nor Sengun are good enough shooters - You can only have ONE non-shooter on the floor at a time and run this offense.

But defensively these lineups are much better at protecting the paint .... because you have Theis or Sengun and Tate doing the dirty work that Wood doesn't care to do.

So .... you find the right guy to plug in as the 4 or 5 next to Wood as a 3 ..... and yeah, it can work and he's a total mismatch offensively.

Can't work, you can't have Green and Wood as your two guys guarding wings. Wood CAN guard some 3's is different than Gordon/Tate being able to guard almost all 3's really well.

I find this silly, to shake up a team's starting line up or rotation on the basis that a big man refuses to guard bigs. It's nice he made a sentimental speech to the organization after realizing Miami beach is not the only place he can end up, but ship his a$$ out. He's always at odds with KPJ and Green, waives off plays, doesn't guard bigs, only guards famous wings well.

Also please spare me the idea that Stone sees him as a franchise player. He sees Wood as the best player currently on the roster, therefore they will temporarily treat him like a franchise player till we have one.

It's amazing our organization's bluffs work better on the fans than other GM's. I guess they should work on fans if they're to work on another GM.

    Phoenix out: D. Saric, C. Payne, J. Smith, 2024 1st (top 7 protection)
Phoenix in: E. Gordon, J. Tate

Phoenix outlook: Get a much needed bench scorer and facilitator. Get a great vet to capitalize on going all-in. Also, receive a gritty young player who plays like a vet in Tate for deep bench. Salary is near identical so no stress about added luxury tax dollars as well, as that's a big thing in Phoenix.

    Minnesota out: Was 2022 2nd
    Minnesota in: J. Smith

Minnesota outlook: receive a former top 10 pick into their Prince TPE for an early 2nd this year. Low cost to acquire a flyer on a possible high reward.

Houston out: E. Gordon, J. Tate
    Houston in: D. Saric, C. Payne, Phx 24 1st, Was 22 2nd

Houston outlook: cash in on Gordon's value gaining a nice future 1st and an early 2nd this year. Losing Tate kind of sucks, but we have to clear roster space for so many future picks.

Just trade Gordan and Tate in separate deals. Both would get you a first each.

I'd do this straight up. We need a guy like PJ Washington on this team.

I don't see the benefit of Washington. If there was a redraft, I don't think he would even be lottery anymore. If Garuba could develop a reliable corner 3, he would be a rich man's Washington. Maybe Washington has 2nd round pick value, but there is a reason Charlotte is desperate for a big man despite having him.

Charlotee does need a big man and we need a 3 and D wing. Washington is currently being played out of position. He'd be our staring 3 or 4 not a center.

They just have too many wings and guards with Hayward Bridges Oubre. Logjam.

You think in the 2019 draft there are 14 guys better than him? No way.

zion Ja garland Barrett Herro. He's too 6. Top 10 at worst.

    What about this:

    Nets get: Wood, Nwaba
Houston gets: Harris, K Edwards, 2 of the future swaps owed to us converted to unprotected picks, 2028 unprotected swap

Nets might be desperate enough to do it.

I don't think you could get a 1st for Tate but a very early 2nd is doable. None the less, adding Tate allows for less protections on that future 1st

    SIXERS: James Harden, Paul Millsap
    NETS: Jaylen Brown, Eric Gordon
PACERS: Christian Wood, Marcus Smart, DJ Augustin
CELTICS: Caris LeVert, Danny Green, Daniel Theis, Usman Garuba + Bucks FRP (2023) + Nets FRP (2024)

ROCKETS: Myles Turner, Ben Simmons, Matisse Thybulle

Sixers get Harden to pair with Embiid, Nets re-load with Jaylen Brown + EGo, Pacers get Wood + Smart, Celts get LeVert + Theis + Danny Green + Garuba + 2 FRP.

Every team also saves money, except for Rockets.

Rockets keep their 2022 FRP + add more young long elite talent.

    6'10 Simmons
    6'4 Green
    6'5 Mathews
6'10 Jabari or 7'1 Chet (FRP)
    6'11 Turner

KPJ, Sengun, Tate, Jaygup, Thybulle, KJ, Nwaba, etc. off the bench.

    WIN-WIN
