Boy, the way James Harden played
If a real coach had only stayed
Now guys like Silas have it made
    Those were the days

    Didn't need no welfare state
    ev'rybody pulled his weight
gee our old LaSalle ran great
    Those were the days
And you knew who you were then
girls were girls and men were men
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again
    People seemed to be content
    fifty dollars paid the rent
freaks were in a circus tent
    Those were the days
    Take a little Sunday spin
go to watch the Dodgers win
    Have yourself a dandy day
that cost you under a fin
Hair was short and skirts were long
Kate Smith really sold a song
I don't know just what went wrong
    those were the daaaaaaaays

Nice bump here….haven’t 100% decided on Silas yet, but he needs to be on hot seat if the team continues to neglect defense and competitiveness on a consistent basis.

Reckon you can evaluate him, but he has nothing to work with. The team is legitimately at a lower tier of talent and has been so for a while. We are running other team's throwaways out there. Silas is a placeholder. That's his destiny. And I don't think he has the talent to change that. It was a raw deal, but if you want to coach, you take the raw deals.

Its not true he's been saying that lie for months. It was one guys opinion/guess and it was taken by him and others as fact and theyve been spreading that misinformation as fact ever since. When SIlas isnt responsible for somethinghe says so. Like he said that he had no input in picking Jalen. Thats all on Stone however there is no quote at all anywhere of SIlas having to play people that Stone tells him to. He usually says words like "i" "I thought" when asked why Sengun doesnt start or why he played certain players.

When this got bumped, thought there was new news. Brian Flores suing the NFL for black coaches getting the the jobs as the franchise is tanking.

Flores claimed he was offered money to lose games.
These HC taking a hit on their reputation as they accumulate personal bad head coaching W-L records. The recent Blazers and Clippers trade suggests Portland ducking the tax and tanking this season; Chauncey's first HC gig.

For what it is worth I think Silas is trying to win, we're just not very good as a team.

NBA is also better (more progressive) than the NFL, but my mind wandered when this thread got bumped.

Silas isn’t a very good head coach. He isn’t terrible, players generally like him and he communicates with his players and at times they play hard for him… but he doesn’t have an eye for detail and a terribly great aptitude for it.

Silas is too comfortable with losing for my taste, he doesn't teach or hold people accountable in game, seems to lack that fire, and intensity....

Don't think he is a good Head Coach at all, seems like a good assistant - nothing more.

The key is to figure out HOW NOT TO LOSE 19 in a row in the first place......and make those adjustments.

You don't hire Kyle Busch to drive a demolition derby car.

Rockets are basically an expansion type team and requires an expansion
type coach; which is what Silas is.....similar to Tom Couglin with the Jaguars.
Coughing learned and took his lumps and used that to take the Giants to the
    Superbowl.

Silas is not done taking his lumps and learning. Why bring in another coach that
takes a month for the players to get use to and then repeat? We are suppose
    to be tanking.

Guys. Get used to our tank commander Silas. Only chance for him to get canned will be in the final year of his deal.

    Tilly won’t pay for 2

This is spot on, there’s also no pressure to win until year 4 of the Silas era, In fact losing in the near term benefits the long term.

After watching Holmgren put up 13/8/4 in the first half against BYU last night, I’m in favor of letting this Silas situation play out. :D
