Why would anyone want Ben Simmons here?

They say Simmons has time to prove himself after he had 3 playoff series to prove himself and sat out a whole season, but Jalen is running out of time and even if he works hard and does everything the coaching staff says it may not be enough plus any mistake Silas makes could end Green and Sengun's potential stardom.

    Clutchfans can be amazing sometimes.

Because he is the game manager the Rox desperately needs... Can't deny his talent and abilities... With that said, I wouldn't trade for him until after the draft...

Clogging the middle to be is more like someone like embiid posting down low. Green and kpj are in the middle for like 4 seconds, that is hardly "clogging". They are both very athletic so a good coach can also have them scoring on cuts and curls especially when you have a pg capable of getting them the ball.
So yes Ben can work but you need a much better scheme which probably requires a new coach.

He’s playing just as well as John Wall

You know what cutters like Green and KPJ need in that 4 seconds? They need an opening in the lane. If Simmons is going to be inside all the time (we all know he won't rotate out to shoot), then that means we also need reliable stretch bigs to rotate out to the perimeter and GIVE them that space. Last time I checked, finding them is pretty darn hard.

Simmons actually initiates plays from the arc. In the half court when off ball, he prefers to cut and roll.

Think of Capela screening and rolling or setting up in corner and cutting or leaking to dunkers spot.

Just say you have no clue how he plays instead of making up BS.

To make teams pay for sagging off Simmons and clogging paint it requires more DHO actions, with Simmons the initiator or recipient.

And Simmons posting up to either score or pass is better option than Wood in post.

If we some how manage to land Chet or Jabari I would love for the Rockets to go in all on Simmons. With Chet, Simmons and the youngins we would have a good combination of shooting and defense to compete in the playoffs.

I think if rockets get a Chet they will have that big that can shoot. I also think senguin will become a respectable 3 pt shooter. If they held on to wood, he is def that guy. They would prob play Tate at 4 and he can shoot it

I think we forget that Ben was pretty solid especially without embiid. I think he is like 18 pts 8 assists 8 boards and he gives you all world.defense.

If he’s bought out, is willing to come off the bench, signs for the veteran minimum and wants to play? Why not.

He still rebounds, gets assists, defends, has a fairly high FG%. He’s a bit of a head case but if he finds himself again and is on the minimum, he’s worth a risk at vet min.
