I have only seen two events so far... women's hockey and mixed team curling. So far: Hillary Knight, Team USA Curling... Stefania Constantini is pretty cute: But Russia's Anna Sidorova... wow.
The opening ceremony is happening now. My mom in Singapore just sent me a sneak peak and it does look pretty spectacular.
Ouch. His body noped out on that last jump in the worst way but gravity kept him going through the finish. Tough to watch for sure.
I'm saw some of the opening ceremony this morning and some of the events and without a crowd or even the commentators live there is definite lack of the energy. What I saw of the Opening Ceremony looked pretty cool but compared to previous ceremonies it seemed almost low key. I've got a rebroadcast of ski jumping on and it feels like just training jumps with no crowd cheering or ringing cowbells like you hear in other big competitions.
Watching the cross country and it’s really obvious there is very little snow. Beijing and the areas around it are actually pretty dry and nearly all of the snow at these events artificial. Also while there are mountains they aren’t very high. These are less Alpine climates and more eastern Wyoming.
