Are you saying they only want Gannon if he brings Zimmer with him?

Correct, it’s at 9% but that also doesn’t mean they are part black either.
The 5-6% thats unidentified is weird too.

You’re assuming they didn’t offer what he wanted in this case.

I completely understand the concept of "NFL hiring practices need to be better". But serious question here, what's wrong with opening up a position, and realizing the guy you think will be the perfect hire is available, so you peg him as the hopeful hire?

I don't think what the Giants did show racism... it just shows how the Rooney rule probably isn't the best way to get more minorities hired.

For the record, I think Flores would be a great hire here, even before the lawsuit, he was #1 for me.

Reid played at a CC and at BYU, Tomlin played at the powerhouse William and Mary.

Majority of coaches never played professionally or were back ups

I heard the Flores thing screwed the timeline up and that's the holdup.

Which is the main thing making me think it could actually be McCown. Otherwise, I think it's Gannon with Pep at OC and McCown at QB coach and Lovie as DC.

Like, imagine the optics if the day after the Flores thing, the Texans hired a no experience Josh MCCown and basically kept all of Culley's coaching staff. That was the original timeline, from what I heard, but I assumed it was Gannon. The delay, however makes me think it could actually be McCown.

But majority of head coaches were top-level assistant coaches. And hiring black assistant coaches hasn't been as much of an issue. There are 4 black OCs (12%), 11 DCs (34%), 8 STs (25%). Assuming most HC's come from that pool, then the pool of candidates to pick from should be around 25% black. In the last 3 years (including this one), 16 HC's have been hired, 1 black - and that was the WR's coach that no one actually thought should be a head coach who got fired after 1 year.

Tip about America, rooted in racism. "The one-drop rule" is still alive and well. Most bi-racial people with with black heritage are considered "black" because that is how they are seen by white people. Cops don't see the "white part" of bi-racial when interacting unless someone is "white passing". I have a daughter and son who could be "white passing" and you wouldn't know they considered themselves "black". My daughter with her Red hair, blue eyes, and PALE skin is almost "militant" in her blackness...lol.

That’s the thing about the study. They claimed to be biracial. There was no white or black. There is no way of knowing if they had any black or white in them at all.

Um....look at the NFL players. There are VERY few non- black/white Bi-racial players. It is not that hard see. You can look at every NFL team's rosters. They have pictures.

There’s a few. But you don’t know what they’re mixed with.
    That’s why it’s biracial

So…if they are not black, what is their other race?
