There is like one black person in America that shops at JCrew.

Excellent mind reading skills. I can barely tell if this is a serious post or not.

So... what do think the comments are indicative of?

As I said earlier I doubt Biden's pledge to nominate a black woman will hold up the nomination or likely delay it. While there will probably be a few senators who will make an issue of it during confirmation hearings most, even several Republicans, will likely not want to give the impression of questioning Biden's nominee on the basis of race.

First Black federal judge in Alabama asks Biden not to nominate Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court

    https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...l-judge-in-alabama-asks-biden-not-to-nominate

    excerpt:

U.W. Clemon, a former chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, urged the president not to consider Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the vacancy.

The retired judge said that there are "several exceptionally well-qualified black female aspirants for the Supreme Court" but that he "strongly" believes Jackson should not be considered.

Clemon referenced the case Ross v. Lockhead as reasoning for his opposition to Jackson, a class-action suit she presided over on behalf of 5,500 Black Lockheed Martin employees. Clemon wrote that Jackson refused to approve the settlement that was reached, which would have provided $22 million to the workers.

"She refused to approve the settlement because in her view there were no common factual questions," Clemon wrote.

What a surprise that a counsel for the losing side urges Biden not to nominate the judge. I have no idea about this judge, but here is a counter point...

Biden needs to just say “**** it” and nominate a 25 year old vegan lesbian black woman and make them vote on the pick. That way the person he appoints can be on the court for the next 55 years.

Upon review, it appears as if there are essentially no requirements to being named to the supreme court.

There have been some questionable Justices. I said what I said tongue and cheek but that is where we are headed by both parties.

It’s a lifetime appointment. There are some lawyers in their 30’s that are capable of serving. The Democrats are too concerned with qualifications at this point. If they want to “win” then appoint a black woman that can serve for 50 years.

The court strikes me as being very young with Breyer retiring.. appears as if Thomas is the next oldest at 73 and stuff happens and people die but it doesn’t appear as if many.. if any vacancies are going to be opening up in the next decade. Though I suppose some justices could decide to retire at any point.

surprised no one picked up on this "news reporting" in The Washington Post. The Post has subsequently removed the line from the story.

Next time repugs float the idea of a Hispanic nominee, will their white supremacist wing bristle with rage at the insinuation that he/she is the BAC?

Trick Question - F Society got that covered...
