They can draft defensive types in later drafts or sign or trade for them, They should not be basing the pick on how he would fit with these guys.
I’ve never been negative about Paolo, in fact I’ve said I would take him if that’s the pick. I’ve said Chet is better. Paolo can be an offensive threat but not the center of offense. Jabari and Chet are similar offensively with Jabari being a better slasher. Chet is by far the best defender, Jabari will be a plus defender. Paolo is pretty far down in that category
Watch film dude. Watch last nights game. Chet has huge offensive upside and DPOY upside on defense. 7 footer that has guard handles, athletic and shoots above 40% from 3. That’s huge

D Fox is a bad contract. Hopefully Banchero (or Green) isn’t Bagley, but I have no faith in his upside as an impact player. Major Julius Randle/Michael Beasley/Jabari Parker vibes.
He has more raw skills than any of those guys, and he is not undersized, all of those guys were tweeners. D Fox is in a terrible situation but that does not mean he is a bad player, there are a lot of bad contracts in the NBA.
Everything fits well around Holmgren. Sengun is a good front court partner and Holmgren can help supplement by the defensive deficiencies of Green. Holmgren and then trade up for Griffin or ( more of a pipe dream) Ivey.

Chet is killing it tonight. 18/13/6/4/1 with 13 minutes to go with his team up 36. What has impressed me most tonight is when the have him run the offense at the top of the 3 point line. His pf posts up his man one on one while the guards freeze the rest of the d on the 3 point line. Easy baby hooks any time they want it (think sengun) plus other limitless possibilities when you have center that is a legitimate pass/shoot/drive threat from that far out. Plus he alters or blocks anyone who comes within 3 feet of the rim.
