I can't count how many times these outlets reported news on the Deshaun Watson situation and it turned out to be false. And you assume that Flores was asked to meet Watson back in 2020 because it fits your narrative, but outlets have reported that the QB was Tom Brady - not Watson. But all that's speculation, I'm trying to form opinions based on actual facts. The fact remains that Watson was eligible to play last season for the entire season, but the Texans never fined him for missing games. Why? You know why. The Texans' main goals are power, control, and protecting their inner circle guys like Easterby rather than building a winning franchise. And I don't hold it against Deshaun for demanding a trade. Cal could've chosen to hire Omar Khan as recommended by the Korn Ferry search firm and Jamey Rootes, but instead was persuaded by Easterby to get on a plane to New England to hire Caserio. Does that sound like something winning football franchises do? It was at that point Watson wanted out and I don't blame him.
So you take some reports as fact and others as non facts. You know it wasn’t confirmed that Khan was Ferry group right? There are typically multiple recommendations. It seems the “facts” you want to believe are based on your opinions.
That's not the case at all. I look at who made the report and their credibility. The situation with Omar Khan was reported on by Schefter, so I take that as fact. Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson bothered by team's hiring process, sources say https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...tson-bothered-team-hiring-process-sources-say
It was reported that there were 5 finalist candidates. Not just one. It was also reported that Dungy advisory board recommended Caserio as well after the Korn Ferry group. You can’t pick and choose which media to believe and call it fact. Watson might have been upset with the hiring process, and? He has shown he has low character and poor decision making. For the record, I liked Khan until I spoke with his brother. His brother is a complete idiot.
Isn't that what you (and basically everyone else) is doing? Tom Brady was reported to be the QB that Miami met with. Watson was shown to be in Miami around that time, but never on a yacht. But you imply that Watson was on the yacht meeting with Miami. People listen to the Buzbee or Hardin depending on who's "side" they are on. Everything about the Watson case is hearsay - there have been no cross examinations, no full stories, etc, but we've all made judgments based on leaked reports, partial info, etc. Everyone is adapting the facts to fit their opinions.
He don’t want to be here, he don’t want to be here? ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ “Well then he shouldn’t have signed the deal!” OK so where are we today then? Texans pick up his 5th year option (would have been this previous season that just finished) and tag him twice? And he’s still here? Sounds like y’all are upset he’s taking control of his future (even though he duped you along the way into believing he was “all in” or here for the long term…and I guess that’s where the frustration is?). Y’all gonna say “Not the same!” Blahblahblahblah … Do y’all get upset when teams trade/cut players a year or two into their deal? “It’s just business.” “Best interest of the team.” But let a player ask for an extension/raise after just signing one or asks for a trade… “Selfish!” ”No!” “No! I’m not paying him again! We just paid him!” “Shouldn’t have signed the deal!” “Honor the contract!” December 28, 2019: Houston Texans signed LB Whitney Mercilus to a four-year, $53.5 million contract extension. October 19, 2021: Houston Texans released DE Whitney Mercilus August 31, 2020: Houston Texans signed LB Zach Cunningham to a four-year, $58 million contract extension. December 8, 2021: Houston Texans waived OLB Zach Cunningham September 10, 2019: Houston Texans signed C Nick Martin to a three-year, $33 million contract extension. February 26, 2021: Houston Texans cut C Nick Martin. June 14, 2018: Houston Texans signed LB Benardrick McKinney to a five-year, $50 million contract extension. March 17, 2021: Traded by Texans Selfish or just business? “He requested a trade 4 months after signing an extension. Period! He’s a b**** ass hoe sexual rapist who quit. **** him!” OK ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
Absolutely, the truth is no one knows exactly what’s going on with Texans, it’s what you believe. Media is self serving and not to be believed in most cases. The only thing I do believe is the 22+ women. That’s just too much to not be believable.
Yeah, all of that is the same as signing the second largest deal ever, praising the people that are in charge and then less than 6 months later saying you don’t trust them and trade me. False equivalency
Also, you are definitely a part of that everyone else. You have made your opinion up about the Texans organization based on disgruntled players and media. Choose not to believe the opposition. That’s your prerogative. Im still going to believe 22+ women over a guy that’s shown he doesn’t have much character.
Lol... None of these guys are paying my bills so I personally don't give a damn how much any of them make. However it is a league with a salary cap therefore their contracts are relevant for the long-term success of a team. But if you think guys demanding a trade 5 months after signing a contract because eAsTeRbY is the same as a dude getting cut after year 3 of a 5 year contract and getting paid his signing bonus then I guess we can agree to disagree.
Absolutely I am part of the everyone else. Sure - but you then extend it to other Watson issues like whether he was on a yacht in early 2019 plotting his move to Miami. And you do that even despite reporting that it's not accurate.
2020* And I just said it was funny. It is funny that Watsons social media has him in Miami during that time. Yes it was refuted by Miami beat reporter, they have a self serving interest to keep Miami away from a true tampering case. Then other media types repeated the same story. It’s highly suspicious that lines up and Watsons team to trade to is Miami. It hasn’t been confirmed that Brady or Watson were on the yacht. But it does seem funny, that’s not saying I believe it was Watson or Brady.
Fair - and to be clear, I'm not criticizing you for your opinions. We all are making judgments based on limited data. My post was more about you commenting that the other poster was selecting believing things whereas I think we're all doing it in this situation.
Absolutely fair take. I did try to clarify that later. We truly don’t know what it going on. We do know there is dysfunction.
I will say one irrefutable fact. No matter who the Texans choose to be the next head coach. At least 50% of this board will hate the choice.
