I have seen this as well, very high and loose dribble.

He'll either get that picked or lose control changing speeds.

Just because you say something doesn't make it true.

Let him develop without putting these ridiculous expectations on him. 30 PPG is scoring title champion.

Are you seriously saying he has this now?

    6'7 wingspan is not long.

He will have to improve strength, IQ and footwork without losing his best asset, speed, to compensate for lack of length.

He already has the effort and work ethic.

    Should have kept Jarrett Allen.

Rockets really need to add legit 7 foot rim protector.

Well, Silas looks stoppable. Stone in the Pond as well.

I wonder what changed in Minny around that time last year?

He gets hot like Westbrick gets hot and that’s when the fans jump in and give all sorts of proclamations. Green’s career will be a roller coaster. His flair and style hurts more than it helps because it prevents people from properly gauging his ability when they’re in awe by his flash in the pan game. He’s not steady a la Harden, CP3, Steph and probably will never be.

Haven't you heard!? He's ONLY 19!!!! He's already doing things none of them did. 30 point game as rookies? hellooooo. Green is a future unanimous MVP he's shown that already.

The only guy mentioned that showed any consistency as a rookie is CP3. Harden and Steph put a lot of work to become who they are today, no one thought they’d be this good.

Jalen Green is always going to be lean which is good for us, but he needs to get physically stronger. That's the main issue which is holding him back.

This is a very fair statement as of now. He reminds me a lot of JR Smith when he was young.

What happens to other players this bad? Or do they all become Anthony Edwards after the allstar break?

How come you weren’t this vocal about Mook midway through his rookie campaign?

Or Sengun who has literally struggled mightily with his shooting and turnovers and just had his first good game since coming back from the ankle sprain. I guess Sengun struggling is different. Josh Christopher has been the best rookie on this team the past month.

Sengun went from looking GREAT to slumping after his injury. His overall season has still been successful, especially as a 16th pick, 19 year old.

Mook I didn’t really ever care about, if he busts, he busts. He was the 14th or 15th pick, those are a crapshoot.

Top 3 picks come with higher expectations, I’m sure both of you would agree. Now, can we get back to actually answering the question, or are we going to keep dodging?

I hate to talk crap about Sengun because I like him so I’m trying not to go that route. Why even refer to him as a 16th pick now when you were hyping him up and touting him as a top 5 pick if I’m not mistaken. I’m holding him to a standard you and many others on this board set for him. Yes, he’s only 19 and will get better, but he has had his own share of growing pains. I hope they trade Wood primarily so I can see him play more and get a better feel for what he’s capable of doing with a consistent 25-30 minutes of playing time.

As far as dodging your question, I have no idea what those stats are and don’t plan to look. Plenty people have pulled early rookie stats for guys like Edwards, Beal, Booker, Lavine, and other stars to show that Jalen Green’s early rookie struggles are not necessarily something to overreact to at this time. I’m sure there are certainly lots of highly drafted rookies that never turned it around too. The point is that it’s just to early too really know. Some of us haven’t given up hope. No crime in that.

Let’s hold Sengun to that standard then. Again, he’s been slumping, but taken the season as a whole, only very few rookies have looked better. Mobley, Cade, Barnes, Giddey, Wagner? And if Sengun wasn’t being held back when he was playing well who knows he may be looking even better than a couple of those.

I don’t have a problem with people having hope, I have hope that Green can still turn into the Lavine type player I thought his upside was. I was just pointing out how often people bring up that Edwards stat as if playing horribly in the first half of the year is some good thing, or no big deal. No man, it’s not looking good, just because Anthony Edwards blew up in the second half while 1,000 other busts didn’t is not an indicator of great things to come. That’s not too say I’ve given up hope though.
