He has officially quit. You can see it. Pulling another Houston exit routine to get the Nets to trade him. I can’t defend this. You can see it in his play for two weeks now. Especially after he didn’t deny the unhappy rumours. Morey is the puppet master telling harden to dog it so his trade value comes lower. While his frustrations with Kyrie and the nets is warranted but the dogging and blatant quitting is not. I think in Philly with Embiid he will kill it again and play like an mvp
Steve Nash is arguably the worst HC ever. Brooklyn fans absolutely hate him and he cost them a title last year even with the injuries. It’s going around over there Nash knows he’s on the hot seat and James who’s hurt is being forced to play thru it and isn’t happy. He’s frustrated there isn’t any offensive identity, no continuity with starters, bench, different rotations every night. Everything you can possible screw up as a HC Nash is doing that. Not to mention he’s frustrated with part time Kyrie. I hope James ends up in Phili if Marks doesn’t wake up and cut ties with Nash and Kyrie. Harden can easily be the dominant player he was last year.
Harden has clearly packed it in and is at fault. I’m also assuming you’ve not watched a single Nets basketball game. If you have and you have any basketball sense you would see that even when KD was healthy that team was a mess because of Nash.
The coach you went to play with left. Part of your big 3 has decided to not get on board and get vaccinated so he can play and your HC is absolutely clueless and continues to play with rotations, playing guys with injuries over 35 minutes a game despite protests and has absolutely zero offensive system. Oh and he also routinely throws the team under the bus. Nash has yet to take blame for anything that has gone in. Yeah I would want out or a change as well. Harden isn’t the only Net who feels this way either.
Currently the trade does look better, but how high can those picks be? Initially I thought if they implode we could end up with a handful of top 10 picks, but if you think about it, a team with that type of money that has shown they are willing to incentivize players under the table and in a big market, should be able to attract some big name players. If they trade Harden for super role players and keep KD/Kyrie, they could end up being a good team. Worse case even if they do lose their stars, they will get assets back and have no incentive to tank. I would think they buy players that others arent willing to overpay like the Knicks tend to do, and end up being a fringe playoff team in the East in an absolute worst case scenario. They really are just one borderline star and good role players away from being a very good team. Currently even though everyone is acting like the sky is falling, they are only 3 games from first place, even after losing 6 straight. I don't think the picks end up being that high, even with Harden traded. I think we end up with 4 late first round picks. I don't think there has ever been a team in the league in the bottom 10 that was not trying to actually lose to some extent, they will have no incentive to do this.
How the hell do you mess up an offensive idenity with Harden and Durant? Just spam Harden + KD pick and rolls/pops and at worst you'll end up the #2 offense in basketball
even if the picks end up good what you gonna do with them? this year alone we already wasted almost all of the 4 great FRPs we had 1.you wouldnt be able to trade green for top 2 pick now...for a top 5 pick maybe but i dont think so...clearly his stock has fallen abruptly and hes not even 2nd best rookie on his own team let alone the best 2 for garuba you woudnt be able to get a 2nd round pick now...what they were thinking drafting him? 3. perhaps you could get a teen pick for alpi back 4. not sure about christopher...
I saw a girl on Tik Tok started with a paper clip and made 10 incremental trades up to an $80K house. We would need to do something along those lines, at some point you will need to start trading 4 quarters for a dollar. I see a lot of people excited about the Nets draft picks being worth something, but best case they are late teens. This front office has had some luck on their side, and been right on some things, but they are not like Toronto or other elite FOs. The only way they can rebuild successfully is getting sure thing top 3 picks in the door, even that they screwed up. You would need to get top 3 picks 5-6 years in a row and hope a couple pan out. I see our path being similar to Philly. Eventually we will find a Joel Embiid.
You could be right. I don’t think Durant is going to be healthy the entirety of his contract. Which puts a huge burden on a team when they don’t have assets outside of the periphery that you stated. The Eastern Conference is very bunched together currently. I’m hoping they lose a bunch more the next few weeks.
even if you do, where embiid has gotten them exactly? nowhere... they were never even a true contenders with him let alone coming close to winning it... he gave them nothing but couple of 2nd rounds exits and they are just one serious injury away from tanking for another 5 years....and we know hes not the healthiest player...
He’s always been a quitter. Quit here and quit in Brooklyn after a little more than 1 year but in Philly he’s going to kill it? Third times charm right? Blaming Morey for being a quitter? lol seriously? If he can’t handle the Brooklyn media he’s going to HATE it in Philly when he struggles and their fans are ruthless towards quitters. The thing with Harden is he could never carry a team in the playoffs but it’s frustrating for him because he can no longer carry a team even in the regular season. With that said he should still try his hardest knowing KD will eventually be back. What happened to the guy that was so excited to be in Brooklyn, the guy that would play his hardest & give full effort every game and then give well thought out answers in post game interviews? If anyone is going to save him and lead him to a ring the best chance is still KD and Kyrie even if part time.
Further than a 27 year old Hakeem to be fair. We’d be incredibly lucky to land a player of Embiid’s caliber. It doesn’t matter what we did with our previous picks and whether they were good or not. It’s still way too early to judge that. Nobody knows if the FO will stay in tact. Stone’s job is not guaranteed forever. The goal was/is still to accumulate as many high picks as possible. Everyone should know multiple FRPs can be the catalyst that can ultimately lead to really nice things.
My thoughts exactly! Simmons is younger, healthier and is a great regular season player, despite being trash in playoffs/crunch time. KD+Simmons=60 wins. Pick #29 or #30
