Another Solid episode. This one upped the ante by forcing Grogu to make a decision. He has to pick a side. And at the same time, bounty hunters are taking sides. They are setting up some payoffs for once. And the stand off could be epic because that cowboy dude is the biggest bad ass yet.
Deepfake much better than during Mando. His hair looked like a plastic mould during the outdoor scenes tho. Mando beat up some hobbits for that mithril chainmail shirt. Still think the Mandalorian armorer short chainged him when she melted his staff...
Definitely getting better and better. I don’t care if people have Skywalker fatigue. Possibilities are endless now with the technology improvements. Obviously the ideas and writing have to be done very well. I’m all for it.
Boy the writers really hated Boba halfway through this series as much as I did and just said “F it, let’s just get back to Mando and the Return of the Jedi sequel.” I’ve never seen a show self correct like this one has.
The Deep Fake is working, but they are making it too hard on themselves. They should have just gone with a new actor. They've done this successfully many times before and fans don't even care so long as the actor is good. But I can appreciate the process, because one day it will be seamless.
I'm still on episode 5, but this is all you need to know about how boring Boba Fett has been. 15 minutes of fixing a spaceship with Mando is more engaging than whatever the hell Boba is doing. Justice for the Razor Crest. I dont like this tiny ass ship.
Spoiler Maybe, just maybe...could they be leading into a 'new' sequel trilogy? Just a thought I had...scrap the new sequel and have a redo through TV....although it would be Disney admitting they made a mistake...
Another solid episode that didn't focus on Boba. Is Boba the Russell Westbrook of Disney+ You hear great things about Boba and he's legendary but he has a +/- of minus 27 when he's on screen.
I'm no SW superfan but I would have loved to have seen the sequels take these last episodes look and feel, so much closer to the original trilogy.....
It’s obvious to me the strength of the actor really needs to be the dictating force for who gets SW spin off screen time. Marvel did this great by starting off their universe with Iron Man because the strength of the character and the actor would be the best foundation to build their house on. Pedro Pascal was a great start to this story. I think the only other character I’ve seen so far that can match that is Rosario Dawson and her character. Those two I think are a good start but they dropped the ball big time with Bobas actor and honestly I think they need to pull a Mark Ruffalo/Hulk and recast him right away if that character is central to the new ensemble. It cannot be understated how much of a dolt that guy is to watch. Timothy Olaphyant’s character… hell yeah. I think he can be elevated be a bigger part of this series moving forward. At some point he’ll have to be more than just a Western trope though since you know… it’s sci fi and at some point these characters have to exist in space and other environments. Recast Boba please or this series is going to continue to slog big time.
I really don't mind Durrel Maori. Yeah, he's prequel old, but seems like a good energetic dude in interviews. IMO, they cast him as an old and grizzled vet who wants to retire on a farm and watch sunsets whereas people are expecting a Clint Eastwood sumbitch who shoots first for people who look at him the wrong way. Kinda cuts into Mando status, but people like gorging themselves on things they like, then dropping it at a moments notice. But the series itself...hope they wrap it up with a bang. It seems like Favreau had a hand in writing most of the eps, so it's also on him.
Had the same thought lol. Love how they keep pulling in characters from the cartoons like Bo-Katan, Cad Bane and Ahsoka. Really good stuff.
This isn’t really a spoiler. There have been strong rumors that they are going to retcon the sequel trilogy anyway. I do think they’re setting up Grogu for past the sequel trilogy as a main character. The way he ages he could still be a ‘young’ Yoda in the future of the series. I have zero issues with the Boba actor. It’s more the way Boba is being written that’s the (small) problem.
Spoiler JFC.....CAD BANE! Gawd damn that scene was lit! Rodriguez said he couldn't believe all the stuff he was going to be able to do in this series and EP6 pretty much said it.
