I think we would be better off with a magic loss. They won’t win enough to catch us. If Indy goes full tank mode we might end up with a better record.
They'll rebound when Durant comes back after the ASB but feeling better and better about those picks in later years.
February 4 Pistons lose Pacers lose Rockets lose (Spurs win) Someone pls update later… Pelicans (vs Nuggets 3rd Q) Thunder vs Blazers (2nd Q)
February 4 Pistons lose Pacers lose Rockets lose (Spurs win) Pelicans win Thunder win (hung on... what a finish) Nets Lose (just throwing it in there) Pretty awesome night!
Rockets hold a 2.5 game lead over the Thunder for bottom 3 record and best lottery odds. Sacramento and Indiana are trailing behind us by 3 games for best odds. Kings are 2-8 in their last ten.
Am assuming we’ll probably be worse after trade deadline, depending…. EG has been consistently helping us stay competitive.
Lol the Rockets have to find minutes for all those players, they cannot even find that much with Sengün.
It feels like we need to get two Lottery Trackers going... One for the Rockets and the other for the Nets. I'm totally invested in the Lottery Race. I honestly would like to see the Rockets finish as the worst team because I think "no worse than #5" is a very good position to be in this year.
That Nets pick is falling like a rock ..... and now there's talk that they may trade Harden before the deadline since he might not return next season. If Durant doesn't come back soon that pick may be close to the play in teams.
Would be amazing if the Rockets get a top 20 pick this year from the Nets. Combined that with the idea that the Nets uncertain future of being a contender (thus Durant might traded at some point), and Harden's drop in productivity - all of a sudden last years' trade looks like a steal. I can't see Durant wanting to stick around to be an also ran with Simmons. He did that too long with Westbrook.
For the Rockets to get a high chance for a top 5 pick, we really can't finish higher than 4th worst record in the NBA. That's a -4 win lead over Sactown & Pacers with 30 games to go. It could be close, and we definitely need to make sure we don't win more than once in every 5 games (which would put us at 21 wins for the season). That means, it would be really nice to lose twice to the Pelicans before the trade deadline!
Rockets are pretty much guaranteed a top-5 pick this year. More likely 1-3. They are truly awful and the worst defensive team in the league. And, it’s pretty evident they’re tanking hard and trying to lose as many games as possible. They’re succeeding.
