For the sake of conversation, we'll say there is.....so what? Gordon isn't going to be here beyond a week from now.
Agreed We are not trying to win anyways... so put them together and make it work on both ends. The BIG problem was Sengun picking up 5 fouls in 10 minutes. He seems to be better now. So why not pairing them again? 100% agreed
I saw on twitter Jalen wasn't mad at EG he was mad at Sengun because he went off script. Gary was confused too. apparently it was a different play but Sengun changed the play in real time. ngl I kind of like the idea of Sengun just changing the play, lol
I know this was probably in jest, but honestly it kind of is on point. I think most of us (including myself even though I finally firmly decided we should pick Mobley on draft day) got too caught up in Jalen’s potential “Mamba mentality” while forgetting that for as great as Kobe’s drive to be great was, he dismantled the Lakers and nearly left. He also said Russ best exemplified the Mamba mentality in the modern NBA. Meanwhile Mobley talks about he doesn’t care about ROY at all and just wants to help the Cavs win games. His teammates all absolutely love him. His mentality was supposed to be a question mark but seems like a huge strength. That’s not to crap on Jalen because I’ve liked how he’s developing in a lot of respects now, but I hope our FO recognizes maybe we need a Mobley/Duncan mentality to add to this team with our next pick all things otherwise generally equal.
With all Jalen's bravado, Jalen has been stuck in the corner as the 4th - 5th option in the hierarchy and never once has he complained. He has done exactly what Silas has told him to do to his determent. I dont know what else kind of mentality you want Jalen to have.
LOL @ this manufactured drama. Green and Mathews throw their hands up even before EGo appears in the frame. The brainfart was obviously on Sengun forgetting the play.
I only watched highlights of the game, but I saw Green slip a screen he was setting for Wood, and set up in the corner for a wide open 3. Wood had no intention of looking for any pass and took a double teamed fadeaway. Green had the exact same reaction. I'd like to see Wood moved if only because it would give 15 more shots to distribute amongst the young guys. I don't need Wood leading this team in attempts and padding his stats. Green, Sengun, Christopher, KPJ, Garry, KMJ, this is the time to get their shots in and learn in live situations. Keep giving those guys more time and more shots. And build chemistry together.
EG and Wood getting traded will be the best thing to happen. We may lose, but the guys can finally fail and learn on own terms.
I’m not saying he’s been a bad teammate or anything or that this is a big deal at all. I’ve done similar things plenty of times playing basketball myself. I am though saying that many people (including myself) thought Jalen’s mentality vs Mobley was the most obvious place where Jalen had a clear advantage and that Mobley’s mentality left some places for concern. I now think we had that completely backwards.
Well I would rather lose games with my future players shooting and learning, vs players who are not part of the plan, still losing games.
Seriously, playing the “I am a man and feelings are for sissies” card? Or the “you get paid millions to play a game so shut up” card? In any case these guys are humans with emotions, not just basketball players who gets millions therefore not allowed to have feelings or it’s not manly or whatever.
Oh dear god, my point is this is a basketball forum, not that players don't have feelings....how do you even come to that conclusion? The point was WTF are we doing talking about that? It is all just watching a video and making **** UP that people THINK is going on...with zero proof. IE - waste of time....... I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. DD
I like how this thread is about Green's possible beef with Ego or Sengun and maybe even implies a mindset problem and yet no one has even mentioned that Garrison Mathews shows the same frustration in the video....
Not to speak on behalf of @ChillyPete32, but I think he is just saying we need to find that balance because like the Kobe/Shaq pairing - it's much harder to sustain two alphas and since we are building a future team from scratch, we need to pay attention to conflicting mindsets.
