Can't believe no Asian head coaches, only 1 middle eastern coach. So much racism going on in the NFL!

I looked for stats on the number of Black players in the league, and it's even more skewed than I thought. Black players in 2020 made up more than 57% of all NFL players compared to about one-quarter being white. Asians accounted for 0.1% of all players. So I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but it definitely didn't land.

No idea what skeletons, if any, are in the closet. But if it’s McCown, they are putting a giant target on their back and will instantly become public enemy #1.

So the fact no Asian or other races account for playing in the league, we shouldn't hire them as coaches? Lol.

    Good to know!

They need to seriously consider firing Erik Spoelstra in the NBA.

If you can't see the reason why Black coaches are upset by the lack of representation at the head coaching level in the NBA and NFL, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Most coaches are former players. Most players in both leagues are Black. This isn't rocket science, chief. It's common sense.

Facts are the franchise wouldn't be where it is today if they hadn't drafted him.

    He was a good coach

    Just not a great coach

Thanks for pointing out the difference between good and great. Really when you look at this objectively he underachieved considering he had a hof QB.

Most coaches are not former professional players.
Also, there is no reason why the league should be majority black and not have better representation for other ethnic groups. Not if the reason coaching should have more diverse demographics simply because of color.

You are a complete moron. We would be worse off if we didn't draft him. Deshaun didn't trade away half the roster, give out **** contracts, or any of the other things that Jack and Bill did.

**** Deshaun. He's a piece of ****. But you are delusional thinking all of our issues are because of him. He's one of the few valuable pieces we have, and a trade will facilitate a quicker return to relevancy. Nobody else is bringing back multiple picks like that.

Your hatred for this dude completely clouds your judgement and any common sense you might have had. It's embarrassing, frankly.

Can’t say I agree with this. Watson is/was a part of the problem. The biggest part was OB and stupid decisions by management

I can agree, but we would be worse off. That dude has lost his mind.

He does hate Watson. I can’t say I blame him all things considered.
My opinion of Watson is higher than R3 as a player, but the biggest culprit for situation we’re in is management.
I hope Caserio is the guy to get us out of this situation

Most coaches have played the sport at a high level. Have you considered the fact that most professional athletes being Black and most head coaches not being former professional athletes could maybe be the same problem? And I'm not saying that coaches and administrators shouldn't be diverse as a general rule of thumb, but diversity in those administrative roles should be representative of that industry or community, and that's not happening in the NFL. In the same way that school districts with large numbers of students of color get rightly criticized for having majority white teachers and administrators, the same should be true for industries with white leaders managing predominantly employees of color.

Sure, but there is a big difference between public school systems and the NFL. Owners ultimately dictate that, and they are mostly white. If people want to stop supporting the NFL because these owners don't really care about diversity, then LOL, okay bud. That isn't going to happen. So it is what it is.

Correct in the sense that most coaches have played at a high level. But that also makes the demographics extremely different. Collegiately there is a far broader spectrum of ethnicities.
You can’t claim there is a bias for coaches being white and at same time say there’s not a bias for black athletes.

As to your second part, it sounds a lot like segregation. The antithesis to diversity.

Really, I want the best, period. I don’t care the color. I don’t care about diversity. Just the best talent.
I agree that opportunity should be more well rounded, but that doesn’t mean minorities would be better candidates coaching. The inverse of that is true as well.

Also, playing the game at a high level does not mean you can coach at a high level. This has been proven over and over again.

Again, how many owners are black?

They are the ones that ultimately determine this. Not saying it's right, but just pointing out for comparison's sake since everyone wants to talk about the player %.

I don’t know. I don’t agree with what he said.
I can still understand the hatred.
I can understand everyone’s hatred with Cal and Easterby too

More owners should be Black if we follow the same logic as my previous post, which I agree with. But there's a pretty big wealth problem in this country, and you don't see a lot of Black billionaires. Even the highest level former professional football player can't afford to own an NFL franchise. But, to me, the "not enough owners of color problem" and the "not enough coaches of color problem" are two very different problems. Being an owner isn't a question of capacity to do the job since pretty much the main requirement for being an owner is just having a crapton of money. You could know nothing about the sport or how to run an NFL team and still buy an NFL franchise.

But now we are talking about different things. Not everyone can buy an NFL team. These guys are their own cabal. We can wax poetically about the inequalities and whatnot, but I'm just being blunt about the way things are. Do you know of a specific minority that tried to purchase an NFL team but was denied? I honestly don't know, but I doubt that list is very long. Keep in mind these guys prefer 1 owner to group efforts.

Being an owner doesn't mean you know **** about the NFL, but it sure as hell means you can influence or directly manage who is hired in the organization!
