LMAO. Sengun probably confused as all hell because Jalen usually just stands still. How we he to know Jalen was going to finally move without the ball? Very weird play. You'd think the worst player on the team would clean up his attitude. Chill bro. That's how disappointed everyone on the team is at 8 out of every 10 things you do. Inb4 JOFs: Kobe hated he's teammates, here's why this play means Green should absolutely be in the MVP conversation.
It has nothing to do with thumping chests, that’s just something the Green Beans are making up right now to try to turn the tables and acting like victims. I don’t care that I was “right”, like someone said I am a nobody on a freaking sports message board. I do care, a lot, that my favorite team was SO obviously wrong. It shows bad judgement by management and ownership. It shows they prioritized a “face” of the franchise to sell tickets to gullible fans as opposed to on court product. And that makes me sad
I don’t come here to “gloat” you idiots, I come here to VENT. You think I’m happy that my favorite team blew the #2 pick when we could have had a number of other players who are all looking great? I’m fking livid!
Even after playing 77 games, he had the very lowest of these numbers of any regular on his team, a team that won 15 games. He was terrible, as were Steve Nash (who was so bad that his first team gave up on him) as were any number of other players I haven't bothered to thonk of and that there's no point in researching because you obviously didn't do your homework before you crafted this iron law of rookie year production and, as a consequence, are having to turd polish furiously from the sweat stained naugahyde of your Davenport, nervously eyeing your nitroglycerin pills as you pore over various piles of -.00x win shares and confidently issue fecal quality grades of forgettable rookie seasons you didn't watch and don't remember. The point was that old internet blowhard said something just to get attention not because it was true. It worked, well played. You should find some way to monetize this. Here's a way to help forget: https://bbs.clutchfans.net/members/cxbby.9639/ignore
Of course there’s any number of other players you didn’t think of, because they don’t exist. Giannis was better by any measure. And significantly better by win shares and bpm or any advanced metric that incorporates defense. And yes please put me on ignore, seems like you are popping a nerve trying to keep up
I don’t think people know what a “superstar” is. Lebron, kd, giannis, jokic, Embiid, Luka, mj, Shaq, Duncan, kg etc players you can build franchises around. there’s zero chance that’s Green. I have said many times that I think Green can be an efficient 20+ point scorer (even though to my disappointment he’s shown no signs of this). But his lack of play making means his offense will never be elite enough to cover for the defense. Guys like this can never be the best player on a contender, but could still make some allstar games like Lavine and Booker have.
Green is the only rookie who has flashed superstar potential. Mobley looks like he’ll be great. Same with Cade. Green is the only one who looks like he might, MIGHT, be a star.
He didn’t even outplay the other rookie on the other team. And the other rookie on his own team had a bigger impact, Sengun who was +20 in 24 minutes while Green managed to be +0 in a 12 point win. The delusion is getting scary
Lololol. Giannis scored literally less than HALF the points Green did his rookie year on the SAME efficiency (TS%).
Between Green and Sengun who plays against the opposing team's starters more? Actually it is a massive difference in terms of how much each respective player sees the opposing team's starters for the entire season. Hence why straight up +/- comparisons between the two are so irrelevant. And last game Green had zero turnovers, played solid defense and scored efficiently. So that tells.me the +/- difference between the two is merely a product of who they played against.
I don’t think this is true at all. I believe Green has flashes for sure. But Cade, Mobley, Giddey and a couple others have had flashes of superstardom too
Lolololol. ppg. How about everything else. Higher per, which doesn’t even factor in defense. Much higher ws, much higher bpm. And again people keep glossing over, Giannis grew 3 inches. If Green grows 3 inches and becomes a legit 6’6-6’7 instead of the fake 6’6 that he lied about predraft, then that would raise his defensive ceiling at least, but that’s not happening
I always know the anti-Green contingent has lost an argument when they start bringing up BS about Green’s height. Pathetic.
No, it is a function of their games. Hitting a couple of shots doesn’t really impact the offense, running the offense does. Green is a piece of the cog, Sengun is the cog, the offense flows better with him in. And on defense staying in front of your man as you are expected to do doesn’t impact the defense as much as a big man protecting the rim. Putting Green on the bench will not give him a +20, otherwise the Rockets would have done it already, unless they are just trying to torture Green
Lol did you just use per? Per always gives a massive advantage to the bigman because it weights rebounds disproportionately. And yes scoring and scoring efficiency are one of the most important metrics in evaluating NBA players. Definitely more than God damn Per. The scoring difference between the two their rookie year is so massive especially given that Green more than doubles his scoring production on the same efficiency that it should outweigh win shares especially given the context of such shitty teams they played on. And it should also show you how massive of leaps 19 year olds can take. Giannis came into the league at 19 averaging 6 ****ing points per game on 51% ts and now is one of the most dominant scorers in the game. It's as if 19 year olds aren't fully developed yet. ****ing shocking isn't it?
Plus Tate and Gordon didnt really play all that great. KJ, JC and Mathews were all better court mates last night. Same for Mobley and his -9 if Garland plays that boosts everybody. Context!
