someone said Jimmy Butler was hot garbage as a rookie which is an indisputable fact

u: he wasn’t that bad, and here is his PER and WS that he accumulated in garbage time playing against no-name scrubs as proof…

now it’s analysis of Jimmy Butler as a rookie is moot…

He wasn’t hot garbage, he didn’t play. The little he did play he put up far better numbers than Green. Only because he played against backups? Benching a terrible starter like Wiseman did not help their numbers against backups. Also Jimmy Butler is not a superstar making the entire point moot. Try to keep up

Arguing against a zealot is pointless. He is only about protecting his own ego and resolving any cognitive dissonance in favor of his stated position - nothing else matters.

no, he was hot garbage…you’re comparing Green against starters and facing far more defensive attention to Butler playing against the 15th man on Milwaukee’s bench…it’s hilarious how lost u are

So because Wiseman wasn’t any better, is that supposed to mean that that’s always the case? No…

Jimmy Butler not a superstar? Ok, Dirk was, and after 30 games he was shooting 36% from the field and 19% from 3. He had 1 decent month to drag his numbers to the trash that they were as a rookie. So Dirk was horrific as a rookie and became a superstar. Case closed. Class is dismissed. Court is adjourned.

Well said. The fact that I actually have to explain one of the worst players in the league won’t be a SUPERSTAR to these cultists has got to be peak delusion. Pointless indeed.

I’ve seen Green vs bench players, he looks just as lost. I don’t know if you watch the games to notice.

Dirk put up far better numbers than green. I’m waiting on the one hot month to drag his numbers up

You have bragged more than once in this very thread about your predictions or scouting reputation on this board. The only reason people bring up Marcus Morris is because you like to constantly remind people how much of a genius you are on Clutchfans.

Maybe you should look through your own posting history.

good game by Green. My Darko-meter ticked lower.
(j/k there is no Darko-meter, that was something taken out of context and blown-up here)
(however, I may start a Tre Mann-o-meter, to see if avoiding the OKC swap was worth it. Tonight was not that great for the Mann-o-meter)

“Green over Mobley EASILY WITH NO HESITATION”!

    Case closed indeed.

I have seen some nice assists from Green after getting by his defender last game. He seems to be working on the non scoring aspects of his game (rebounds, passing, defense). He has been pretty streaky so far this season, I hope his good play will continue now for ten games or so and he can further improve.

Jalen is already proving that he can get to the line as a rookie. Imagine once he develops a consistent jumper and some moves once he gets past his defender.

Guys in the optimistic Jalen Green thread are constantly shocked that people in this thread have higher expectations than everyone else.

This thread is literally made to share the feeling that Green has a star quality about him. It's not a statistical analysis or game by game analysis of the weaknesses of Green's game, there are threads for that and I visit those too when I want to understand those things.

If you have the thought "I need to incessantly break down mostly the weaknesses in Green's game", why would you choose THIS thread of all threads to do it? lol

We love you, everyone is welcome, all perspectives welcome, but please stop acting surprised that many people in this thread are sincerely genuinely highly optimistic about his future. We're just trying to have a party in here after drafting a future star.

Exactly. They are developing him correctly. Right now we're making sure he knows how to play off ball and go to the line as staples of his game. Will ensure that his impact is not so heavily dependent on his on-ball talent.

The 3pt shot will make defenders come closer to the perimeter instead of giving him tons of space, and I predict that will make a significant improvement to his finishing at the rim.

How can this clown say these things with a straight face.

    He's consistent.

Hahahah. Consistently bad? Is that what he's referring to? Consistent is one of the last words in the English language I'd use to describe Jalen Green's game.

What an embarrassment of a coach.

Green has his first good game in a month.

.... still nowhere near as good as the other rookie on the court haha.

    Yowzas.

    Jalen is BACK BABY!!!!!

Ignore the whole month prior where he was subpar.

Ignore the 99.999% likelihood that he'll string together many more subpar games in a row from here on.

For this night. He is BACK BABY MVP. and that's all that matters.

I wish I had the short memory that JOFs have.
