To be fair, Shaq and everyone on TNT are hacks. No one really studies and they all half ass it thru each show.
There is no “maybe” or “if”s about Green ever becoming a “superstar”, which I interpret as one of the top players in the league. There is zero chance of that. Could he still become an efficient 20 point scorer who does little else, while being below average on defense, which is what I expected from before the draft? If Andrew Wiggins can be a 23 ppg guy in this league, then that possibility is certainly still there. This won’t be an impact player, or anywhere close to a player that can lead a contender, but at least we could salvage some trade value. Mind you, he is far from even that low bar right now, which is the ultimate disappointment, that even his upside was unworthy of the #2 pick.
Statistically, he has absolutely been one of the worst players in the league. I am not saying he's destined to end up that way. He will improve. Just talking numbers thus far.
I’d prefer if he ditched that mega jump back 3 point shot for now. Overall nice first half and the first quarter really showed his potential upside.
he's at his best when he plays within the flow of the game. maybe in a few years he can go iso and demand more looks but right now that's not his game and that's fine.
That’s mighty definitive statements to throw down on a 19 year old. Were you the professional you are now at 19? What are the odds and will he? Who knows. To outright say never, seems a bit like an over reach at this point. It’s still quite possible. There’s no denying he’s a special talent. We should all remind ourselves he should be freshmen/sophomore in college.
Jalen Green: 21 points, 5 reb, 5 ast, 1 blk, 1 stl and ZERO to. Not bad, right? Let the boy play! Simply that!
