While I’m in the camp that it’s still too early and hopeful Green turns into a good player the examples you gave and used are not only outliers but they don’t fit the same situation as Jalen Green. Lowry, Butler and Draymond were all late first round/2nd round picks not the #2 overall pick. When you take someone #2 overall the expectations for that player are going to be high. Nobody expects much if anything from guys taken in the 2nd round. With Green he’s supposed to be a guy that looks like a franchise player and a future stud. Even though it’s early I know… But as of this exact moment can you honestly say he does? I know I have my doubts. Again, I wanted Green and I want him to succeed but the odds of being a lottery bust and out of the league in 4 years are much much greater than the odds of someone becoming the next Jimmy Butler or Kyle Lowry. I’m not saying he’s going to be a bust but it’s a strong possibility that must be acknowledged. Most of the posters on this board are oblivious or in denial that such thing can happen to a player from their own team. There’s no reason to bring up Giannis (generational player) as an example unless you plan on being severely disappointed.
