I think he's well aware of the consequences of this lawsuit. No one does something like this and thinks that they'll get hired again.

Think his case would be looked at differently had he filed after being passed up for all the open jobs. Also that would be an absolute horrid way to start your new job had he filed after getting a job, assuming he would’ve still filed.

    Two things

    1. They need to get rid of the Rooney Rule. It's a sham.
    2. Bill Belichick needs to put Last Names on his phone Contacts.

A sham rule is better than no rule. It is a great rule when teams are open to several candidates. It's a pointless rule when a team knows exactly who they are going to hire and wouldn't bother interviewing anybody if they weren't made to, like the Raiders with Gruden, the Cowboys with Parcells (and McCarthy really) and probably Sean Payton next year.

but it's a pointless rule, both the candidate and the team know it's BS.
both miami and houston had black coaches but they both got fired

I'm curious as to how Bill feels about him using his text message in the suit. He's probably his safest bet back into the league given his level of power.

A star QB is probably the only other thing that could make the difference (which would be ironic given the accusations in the lawsuit concerning a certain QB's recruitment to Miami).

I am sure he is privately not happy about it at all. Bill doesn't like being involved in controversy. He basically said nothing on Spygate and then was visibly angry about deflate gate and told reporters to ask Tom Brady.

The Campanis comments were made 30 years ago, on national television and he doubled down on it thinking there was nothing wrong with what he said. We will look back on what is going on right now the same way some day.

Is paying a coach to tank really racist though? Im all ears to the argument, i just dont get it. In the same vein, I always thought there were quite a few black assistant coaches and staff throughout the ranks. Flores seems like a good coach and I have to imagine he was going to get another shot easy. I also dont really understand about Belichek angle. If the teams like a white coach but are forced into interviewing a minority candidate If the teams like a specific white coach but are forced into interviewing a minority candidate, what are they supposed to do? A lot of the time these vacancies open up and the coach is essentially predetermined.

I wish Dallas would fire McCarthy and hire Flores.

You should be ashamed for posting it.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported Wednesday that he spoke with a witness who said he heard Dolphins owner Stephen Ross offer former head coach Brian Flores $100,000 for every loss during the 2019 season.

Wolfe also reported that Flores' team says they have evidence including messages from general manager Chris Grier that corroborate the allegations against Ross.

Like the Rooney Rule. It gives folks a voice who did not have one before. They may or may not get hired, but they get heard. It's absurd rule on it's face, but it does work.

All but a few coaches will be hired by crappy teams. That's part of the risk. It's their job to turn it around like Tomlin, Jimm J, or even Vince Lombardi. Flores got hired by a crappy team. He was asked to tank. Tanking is real, it's analytic, so I have no problem with it. I don't believe he has a case. Caucasian coaches faced all these issues too including sham interviews.

There is a massive difference in being given a bad team, the owner, GM, everony knows its bad...and the coach just loses game...and the coach literally being told to lose games. Like that's a massive difference.

Imagine a coach being in a winnable game and then calling plays that he knows won't work? This is throwing games. Not only that, it destroys the reputation of the coach, he's known as a loser, won't ever get hired again, and then the team fires the coach they paid to lose games when they feel the team has been rebuilt. That's super scummy.

If there are more coaches that happen to be black that were paid or offered to be paid to lose games...that's a huge deal. Even if these owners offered white coaches that, that's still a huge deal.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, the NFL has official betting partners...it can't be revealed that players or coaches are intentionally throwing games.

Paying a coach to tank is apparently illegal.
