Honestly, if you weren't so high on him I'd think he is more likely to be a bust with that frame of his. But, you're a top 5 poster here for me so if we drafted Chet I'd be excited
I don’t think either of us know which is the false narrative, but Harden did abandon us even though we were trying to make up for the CP3/Westbrook fiasco by signing Wood which is the prototype of which tons of fans were saying we needed, a big that could shoot threes. I could really care less who’s fault our current situation belongs to, only that I believe we are on the right track for a short-term rather than long term re-build thanks to Stone’s ability to draft and find guys like KPJ, Tate, KJM and Matthews. Be a pessimist if you want , but the situation is not hopeless.
Hahahaha That was funny AF! But not unusual among cult members to get after each other when one is perceived as not devoted enough. Any statement with a slightly ambiguous interpretation can be perceived as heresy and persecuted. Great recovery by @J Sizzle to profess his allegiance by saying that he’s totally rooting for the Rockets to lose as long as the deity is not on the court. Great job, guys!
But no other rookies out there have contributed much in terms of win streaks either? Not sure there is much to take away from the ROX win streak other than they beat some bad teams minus the Nets and Hornets. Not too sure how much Wood or Gordon influence winning, but I wouldnt fear that this team is going to lose out on a top pick any time soon.
On one hand, this team is 7-35 without the streak. On the other, the teams we beat were so bad we still probably win 3-4 of those games if played again, Green or not.
You're not wrong. Its a cringe fest when this team plays. Whoever they play. It sucks. No reason to worry that they'll play themselves out of anything.
I've gotta agree with @Nook on this one .... Chet's legit. I've watched at bits and pieces of just about every Gonzaga game, he can play either big man spot and can play as the lone big or with another big. He's getting those insane offensive numbers without much of a usage rate - That team still features Timmie and Chet's offense just happens in the flow of the game. The shooting splits are better than KD as a freshman at UT ..... KD .473, .404, .816 CH .633, .456, .742
Don't compare Chet's offense to Durant's, the two are on different planes of existence. I'm a big Chet advocate, but if LeBron James didn't exist, Kevin Durant would be this generation's LeBron James.
I'm only comparing shooting splits. Fact is Chet just takes good shots thru the flow of the offense - only 8 shots a game. It stands to reason he hits a high percentage of "Good shots". KD took 18.5 .... He was the offense.
I gotta say… I’ve started paying attention to college a bit more lately cause of the Rockets and I am scared to death to draft Chet with a top 5 pick. Am I crazy thinking he looks like the most injury risky prospect since Shawn Bradley? Given Bradley played good NBA minute but man… the guy just scares me that he’d be hurt 95% of the time.
That's a pretty big distinction when bringing up shooting splits... So, it sounds like you believe Chet could be like Golbert with a 3 point shot
Youre wrong, I know between the actual facts and the false narrative because I heard it straight from Tilman's mouth on MULTIPLE media platforms. And the truth is not some trivial thing to me. Harden may have forced his way out of Houston, but it was Tilman who abandoned him and ALL Rockets fans by his insane behavior and actions. Tilman was directly responsible for the loss of CP3, D'Antoni, Harden, Morey, heck even Thad. And THAT is the truth. And Stone's ability to find up and coming role players is nice but a great GM is judged on his ability to acquire ALL STARS and SUPERSTARS. And do not confuse pessimism with realism. I've never created or repeated any false narratives or distortions. And I have remained hopeful for Green but I've always preached caution AND patience. From the beginning. Telling it like it is does not mean I'm a pessimist or hater.
Chet's more offensively efficient at similar age but I would not compare his game to Durant's. At all. Compare him to Porzingas instead.
Jabari Smith Jr is barely 210 as well. But he's also legit 2 way player. What side did you take on the last draft?
they always say all the superlative stuff before they hit nba... didnt watch the guy play but hype is the same just like it was for andrew wiggins, jabari parker and jalen green even if hes good just you wait until he enters the silas machine
Last Spring/Summer I wasn’t nearly as educated as I should have been quite honestly. Coming out of a Covid year I think it was prime for making mistakes. I did like the upside of Mobley though based on what little homework I did do. I just think going into the first year of a rebuild going upside with length and height is a good bet. I mean you really have to be sure that a guard can ball for you to take him in the top 3. It’s as if nobody did the homework on really understanding both the skill set and the mentality of Green before the draft. To be fair though, Stone wasn’t the only one. Had the Rockets taken Mobley I’m 99% certain the Cavs take Green given the hype. I think the primary thing GM’s need to be judged on those is what they do to rectify misses. I feel like Morey was great at that and how he would recognize a miss and recover was what really gave the fans and the org the confidence he had.
