Is there any reason to watch MCU movies in order? Like for someone who probably hasn't even watched one? Do I need to go back to 2008's Iron Man or whatever first or can I watch this one first? Or will I be screwing up spoilers watching them out of order?
If it looks interesting enough I’ll read it after it’s out. Google ‘read comics online’. It’s all out there.
I was reading Hickman's run on X-Men but gave up after the "reset" was more or less complete. The idea that Moira lived in different X-Men timelines was pretty smart.
The X-Men stuff out right now is way too ambitious and pretentious for my tastes. Too much **** to follow and keep up with. I prefer independent comics or simple self-contained storylines, like the recent Immortal Hulk run.
marvel's phase 4 has been underwhelming. dc should've pounced at the opportunity, but they somehow sucked even moar. maybe it needs extra woke agenda sprinkled in.
I can't disagree with you. After Endgame, wtf was Marvel going to do? No way to top that. At this point it would be like your local neighborhood gas station taking on Walmart. Pointless for most people. And for both companies, enough market to go around anyway. I do think Peacemaker is a good in for DC to take. I'm down with the DCEU being rated R and laced with black humor.
Wasn't awful, but a bit less than average for MCU standards. The last two minutes of the film though... Spoiler ...has there been a more grand entrance by anybody in any of the MCU films to date? The rumbling sky, clouds dissipating, only to reveal Arishem peering over earth was frightening as hell. And then the people of earth chattering and running around not knowing what to do when he disappears. I mean what could you do other than have some sort of meltdown or existential crisis? Fantastic! (Can't embed. Just click "Watch on YouTube") That and the second post credit scene made me happy that I watched. The rest? Meh. How can you make a movie with Eternals and Celestials feel so inconsequential? Without that last two minutes of the movie I would have been disappointed.
