Hollywood WOKE WARS: Snow White remake, Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister angry at Disney

It's the stupidity of making any Snow White movie.

Why the F does everything need to have a F'ing remake?

Why is it that they have to now make Batman Gay or Superman Black... Come on man...

Make new heroes that you can call your own... I mean it's like making Black Panther white, asian or any other culture...

Look at Shang-Chi and the response it received...

I remember when they re-did the Odd Couple show and made it from an all white case to an all black cast... It sucked!!!! They kept everything the same just changed actors from white to black... Just stupid and no creativity....

It would be like remaking Sanford and Son as another culture... WHY??? Be creative and come up with something different...

I mean they did it with "All in the Family" and "The Jefferson"... Both were created by the same person... He made a few changes with actors, added a twist and gave the show a different name... Both Archie and George were bigots.. One white and the other black.

Like @jiggyfly and I were talking about Wonder Years (i've never seen the new one)... As he stated it's nothing like the old.... Then for me.. Why not give it a new name and not make it a remake...

I like how did the new "Fantasy Island" its not a remake, but an extension...

But why does it matter if they make Superman black? Why do you even care? There's so many white super heros / protagonists still, teh vast majority, who cares if a few of them change races or gender?

I agree I'd rather see new creations purely from an entertainment standpoint, all these remakes are lazy and get boring. How many reboots of Batman do we need? How many spiderman's do we need? (Although "Into the Spiderverse" was amazing if you haven't seen it).

What I don't understand is the pushback to some people wanting to create a black superman. It's not like you lose the old superman,the comics and movies will always be there.

 

I'm not pushing back at a Black Superman... Just would not prefer it...

Almost if Hollywood is saying "Here you go... Now you have a Black Superman.. So now shut up and leave us alone" to me.. It feels like a consolation prize...

Well most people would say expressing your preference against something IS pushing back haha.

I just don't get why you or anyone cares. It's like a movie with two men kissing, if it offends your sensibilities - best just not to watch it versus say, hey, I prefer they not make it. You know what I mean?

One of the things about the whole anti-PC crowd that doesn't make sense to me, why do they get so bent out of shape when one side complains about a controversial right wing position but then they also get bent out of shape when the see the left doing something that offends them. Free speech is free speech. If someone wants to defend controversial or distasteful content, then it seems they should defend all distasteful content, otherwise it's not really about free speech but rather just fighting a culture war to make sure white anglo men keep their perceived top position.

Why is it that it seems the same people that defends the rights of a white supremisist to speak on a college campus get upset when a player kneels at a football game during the anthem? Where's the consistency?

 

The difference is i'm just expressing my thought and not trying to push an agenda... But in this day and age, when you express your opinion you're offending someone...

I hear ya, I just don't get why people care about wrapping up things into these larger packages around politics or culture wars.

I worked in advertising. When I started, most of the people and kids on packaging and products were white. Then people figured out that hey, if we throw in other races, we'll sell more product. So they did. No one seemed to complain or care that much.

 

This is what they did with Wonder Years it's the same premise but with a black family, to tell the truth I never watched the old Wonder Years so I don't know if it has the same beats.

Anyway its a good show, maybe they could have used another name, but the premise lends itself to different families.

 

The people running these studios have a very good sense of what people are going to pay for.

1. They have been doing it for decades
2. They test the **** out of things

If they are making a black superman, it's because they at least *think* it's going to make them more money, not because they give two ***** about social or racial justice. There are plenty of Republicans in Disney, my friend.

Sure they are sensitive to what directors and actors want, many who tend to be hyper liberal, and sometimes they are just trying to be edge and controversial to get more press (more press = more money), but don't be fooled, they are driven by $$$$$

Yeah a lot of their stuff flops. But the entertainment industry make big money for a reason.
