Let's drop both off at Camp Morant this summer. Temetrius and his pops will get Jalen & JayGup all skilled up.

They should just read us at Clutchfans some of us been saying that forever.

    ;)

BTW - it is nice that he is giving advice, and that is exactly what Green needs to hear, footwork, dribbling, fundamentals - he needs work in all 3.

    Good post.

The bolded part is the concerning thing though.

When you pick someone with the second overall pick, you're hoping to refine a certain part of their game, or have them work on a single thing.

Not that many things just to be serviceable role player.

So does Morant get extra salary for being a social worker to get players from other teams to the ASG?

    Man got to be paid.

I agree with you. The thing is just imagine this, he doesn’t have any above average NBA skills. He doesn’t do a single thing at an elite level for an NBA guard right now. The only thing he presently has is above average NBA speed and explosiveness and with below average skills, just a couple weeks ago this young man, at the age of 19 was averaging over 15 points per game on nearly 54% TS in the best league in the world. Kind of mind blowing if you ask me. That’s why I still believe his upside is crazy. What he is right now isn’t what he’ll always be.

Most importantly developing “GO - TO “ spots from mid- range. ALL GREAT scorers have them. This three or layup methodology is just a way for average players to be more efficient while their main role is something other than shot creation and scoring. The scorers have to have their bases covered offensively and that includes “GO- TO” spots from mid range that breed consistent scoring. That’s what CJ meant by getting to “spots”

I’m not sure Josh deserves to have his name thrown out there like that. Josh has the skillz. Mad skillz.

Every single one of greatest playoff scorers when they need a basket they pull up from mid.

    LOL

System cannot make a player what he is not. Green needs to work on his bag, that is on him and not the system.

If he had a stop and pop he'd use it because he gets stopped in paint all the time in half court sets.

Ja is close to all our young guards (KPJ, Green, Jaygup), especially KPJ.

Harden and Dejounte Murray are also close to KPJ.

KPJ has a LOT of support from NBA players, including Lebron.

Cannot knock his work ethic that is for sure.

But he needs a guy with pads flying at him when he takes those shots.

Lol. NBA Live 95, there’s a blast from the past. I wasted way too many hours on that crappy game! I think Hakeem’s head consisted of exactly 2 pixels in gameplay.

I agree about Jalen needs a deeper bag, but the system doesn't even try to make his job easier or use his athleticism. The fact that Jalen doesn't get a back screen at the top of the key and doesn't have an alley package in the offense is crazy.

    Coaching matters.

Nostalgic for Rudy, D'Antoni and Adelman.

Now THOSE were real coaches at the absolute apex of the game.

The most criminal thing for me is how absolutely phenomenal D'Antoni would be with this roster. He knows exactly how to make run and gun work, and also how to tailor his philosophy to match the players in front of him.
