GO AWAY HATER! Silas needs the timeout... hell, he needs to pause for a season or 2 to ponder on his bs ways...
Yes, I agree that, offensively, that should be the formula (Sengun initiates, while everyone else cuts). Honestly, it should be Sengun initiating or setting picks in almost every possession he is on the court, since it's clearly our best offense. I think the biggest issue is on defense. If we get the against-last-Warriors-game CWood, where he was actually trying, then it should theoretically work. But unmotivated Wood on defense will not work with another slow footed big sharing the court with him. Sengun has his own problems on defense, but he tries, and given his smarts, will probably learn quickly how to handle pick and rolls, and minimize his fouls.
its not like we beating the world with other lineups....let the youngster play and learn on the go...not to play a player, let alone a young player its to ruin him...its A CRIMINAL ACTIVITY...a vet to sit on the bench, in a tanking year, it may be ok, but your franchise cornerstone? ITS INSANITY as per unmotivated wood, its on silas and the org.... honestly why hed be giving any **** if he saw firsthand the org is tanking? he may tank as well then...they did suspend him for some violation... well use that again to make him play the way you want him all the time... not willing to set proper screens? then you sit young man... then youre suspended and NO PAY FOR YOU... instead these morons sat alpi who gives the most **** of all
I think a 2 big lineup with Sengun could work well as long as the other players are good shooters from 3. It doesn’t work when Tate is with two bigs because then only one (Wood) out of the three can shoot. There can’t be a situation where defenders can sag and cheat off of two players. So KPJ-Gordon-Matthews-Wood-Sengun with Sengun and KPJ alternating as facilitators could be interesting.
thank you, this is intriguing, but what does work here even means? its like something is working on this team so were trying not to upset it... nothings working on this team, so you may as well play and develop the best rookie of this class, your franchise cornerstone...
OK boomer. It's you that started the age thing; I'm reminding in case you're suffering from dementia. Of course nothing Silas said was tough love - the little sneak doesn't have the guts to work that way. nepotism /ˈnɛpətɪz(ə)m/ noun the practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs. "he promised an end to corruption and nepotism" OK, you still haven't answered my question: When was the last time Green's or Wood's game was criticized openly? Answer that first, biatch, then we'll talk.
Works as in won’t lead to Silas getting freaked out and pulling Sengun too quickly. I agree with you there is nothing to lose by experimenting with lineups that favor growth and development over wins. They suck. Hell, the Bucks did that a while back and they were contenders. It is ridiculous not to try things. But Silas (or the higher ups) doesn’t have a long-term vision here. Even after the last game Silas talked about bit getting excited about Sengun’s highlights because of all the little things he doesn’t wrong for a big. Meanwhile Wood has just as many or more little things he does wrong as a big. Really, Wood’s offensive and defensive profile are more like a 3 with limited handles. He doesn’t have the basic fundamentals of a 4 or 5.
https://www.theringer.com/nba/2022/...okic-giannis-antetokounmpo-mvp-points-created Interesting note in this MVP/Points created article other than that you are close to a lock to being MVP if you lead the league in points created. Sengun is Houston’s leader in points created per 36 minutes played (points, points from assists and screen assists) and overall 27th in the league. Not too bad.
Took a lot sooner for my worst fear to be realised, that this incompetent franchise would neuter/ruin Sengun's development.
Sengun's true struggle right now is his limitation on defense, especially on switches where he loses his man or too slow to rotate. Rockets would do better to play him in 2-3 zone and keep him in paint where he can actually be a legit disruptor. Wood is perfect cutter, roller, lob and corner 3 threat. The problem is on defense where Wood also struggles and cannot back stop Sengun when he is out of position or loses his assignment. Defensively, Sengun would work little better with Myles Turner. But even Turner struggles on perimeter.
Yes, Silas just spitted out 'data supports it'. In reality the net ratings for the 5s with Sengun and Wood swing wildly between negative and positive. For all of them the minutes are too small to say anything definitely. But certainly the data does not say that it did not work. If anything, the data showed that it sometimes worked and sometimes did not and it is too soon to tell. And also players need time to get used to things. You can't expect something like this to work out of the box.
Can you at least wait til the deadline before you panic? Wood is ahead of him in the rotation and is simply outplaying Sengun every game. I'm sure minutes will open up for him soon.
This is probably true. But……they play Green over Gordon or play Gordon out of position to make sure Green gets minutes. It’s hypocritical
I understand what you're saying. That would be fine if Green wasn't being outplayed by everyone on the roster, and still getting the minutes he gets. One rookie gets things he doesn't deserve, and one doesn't get the things he deserves.
