Oh, I do care about shootings. One reason I support stronger gun laws... don't you? But getting back to Biden flying people around... is he flying them to Mar A Lago? I hear they hire...
Who would of thought that a right wing LEO and a partisan GOP governor candidate spins this into a story about secret government planes destroying America by packing our citizens with migrant criminals and releasing them into American cities. None of their conspiracies even make logical sense. Why would the Biden admin even want to do that?
What about trump, huh? Thankfully they caught the cop killer in acuna before he get settled deep into mexico.
I'm assuming you don't want stronger gun laws. So what is your solution to crime in a country that already has 4% of the world's population and 24%(highest incarceration rate on the planet) of the world's prison population? More policing? More incarceration? What exactly do you want? public service announcements about being better parents? Or do you think economic wealth divide is something to look at when looking into solving crime issues?
I dont mind stronger gun laws. I also support the bail system and stronger borders. All 3 combined could potentially limit some the senseless murders we are seeing in Houston.
when it comes to crime, undocumented immigrant isn't the problem Comparing crime rates between undocumented immigrants, legal immigrants, and native-born US citizens in Texas | PNAS
I also support stronger border enforcement. I opposed the ridiculous vanity wall, but I do support increased border patrol hiring, increased use of technology, and increased collaboration with Mexico and other countries to reduce the flow of people towards the southern border. And... stronger laws and enforcement to reduce hiring of undocumented workers (to reduce the magnet). And... stronger gun laws.
Illegal immigrants commit less crime per Capita. The overwhelming majoroty of crimes committed in this country come from poor to lower class American citizens where I would safely assume most of those crimes eventually stem from their poor living conditions from wealth inequality.
Which makes sense. When your entire existence is considered illegal, the last thing you want is to draw attention to yourself. If right wingers opened their hearts to understand the vast majority of migrants that come here come here just to earn a living, they wouldn't consider them a "invading force" full of violent criminals.
Thanks for the info. I don't think the per capita rates make the crimes insignificant. It is going to be tough to equalize the wealth.

Biden's FDA pick is in limbo. Biden working on other things I guess ‘The White House isn’t supporting him’: Biden’s FDA pick left in limbo Robert Califf’s supporters fear his candidacy is on the brink — raising the threat of a setback for Biden and the health agency at the center of his pandemic response. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/01/28/white-house-biden-fda-pick-califf-00003053 excerpt: Five Democrats — Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) — have signaled opposition to Califf’s nomination, but even more remain on the fence, according to four of the people familiar with their thinking. “I’m surprised the whip on Democrats is as high as they are assuming,” a congressional aide said of the administration’s confidence. “If his meetings have gone as I’ve heard with other Democrats, he’s not making a great impression.” In recent weeks, Sens. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Burr have led a scramble to win last-minute support for Califf, in hopes of holding a floor vote by early February. A HELP Committee aide said Murray “hopes he can be confirmed as quickly as possible.” Some officials and allies remain optimistic they’ll ultimately secure the 50 senators needed to push Califf over the line, contending they only need to win over a few holdouts. So far, there has been no serious talk of pulling Califf’s nomination, and the administration has no ready fallback candidates. If needed, Senate Democrats could postpone a confirmation vote for weeks while they try to build enough support. Some close to the confirmation effort argued that Califf’s candidacy never should have been endangered in the first place, faulting the White House for being too detached and noting the nominee himself has struggled to make his case to skeptical senators. A team from the health department has largely managed Califf’s outreach, to middling reviews, three of the nine people with knowledge of the matter said. Top White House officials, meanwhile, remained largely disengaged even as the administration telegraphed public confidence — and despite internal warnings that the nomination could be in trouble. “The White House isn’t supporting him,” one of the people with knowledge of the matter said. “He’s kind of his own one-man PR show.” A White House official disputed the characterization, insisting there’s been “consistent outreach to members throughout this entire process.” more at the link
Gov Abbott, are you reading this? Your focus should be on making Texas safer from the gun toting legals you divert your attention from when you loosen up gun laws and restrictions. To be a cop in Texas with a Governor like you is a really dangerous job.
