After reading that article, I can't imagine the lack of empathy of someone who thinks that taking unaccompanied minors out of detention centers and into temporary situations until they find some form of guardianship as some type of evil secret government plan to destroy America. According to the article itself this isn't secret and I didn't see in the article where it says that they are bringing in people with criminal records. The article says this. Most of this article is from one local LEO talking to Federal contractors and who isn't actually working on the the transfers and also from a Republican County Executive running for Governor. The claim made by the Rob Astorino that there is more than just minors being flown in isn't supported by itself by the article. Also to note they are being flown to NY because of family and sponsorship connections.
For those still arguing that their vote doesn't matter will remind people that the last two presidential elections were decided by less votes than the amount of people that can fit into UT home game. The problem with arguing your vote doesn't matter is that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The less people vote. The less their votes will actually matter.

This. Your vote matters much more in municipal / county elections since even fewer people participate in municipal elections compared to state and federal ones. It can be a genuinely rewarding experience to become involved within your local community and help bring about minor changes that lead to improvements in areas where you believe the city/town you live in has fallen behind and needs to be held accountable. In a world full of people that often promise the moon while delivering empty platitudes instead, it's actually nice to be a part of a community that sets realistic attainable goals that actually lead to improvements to your local areas most disadvantaged communities.
