Anyone still wondering why he hasn’t signed an extension or thinks there is “something to him not signing an extension yet” doesn’t deserve to cover the NBA anymore. It has been known for what feels like a year now that with 100% certainty Harden would be opting out of his last year to sign the more lucrative 5 year deal. Not signing an extension has 0% to do with Kyrie or what’s going on in Brooklyn. It has 100% to do with the substantially bigger pay day by waiting and opting out. If they had won the title last year and Kyrie took the jab and had been playing this whole year, he still wouldn’t have signed any extension.
