That's not relevant to the conversation. If the Lakers took your stance, they'd have one fewer championship.

Clutching pearls about childish incidents early in a career isn't worth throwing away your best young player.

When was Artest ever the Lakers best player, or the best player on a championship team?

Nothing at all .... but he's been very inconsistent this season. So, I flipflop between lock him up and trade his ass.

I suppose playing next to a guy like Wood who's half assing it might have that effect on a lot of players.

KPJ runs hot and cold. There's no rush to lock him up as this season was always a trial run.

He was never their best player, but they don't win in 2010 without him.

My observation is that Wood is very aggressive when facing a team without a physical front court. Maybe he is just easily intimidated, not lazy.

Sengun is the best young Rockets player.

KPJ is closer to being as bad as Jalen Green by any advanced metric. Muddying the waters with Ron Artest doesn't make KPJ even an average player. We still have a half a season to go to see if KPJ can find some consistency.

Honestly I couldn't give two shets about KPJ's tantrums and maturity.

I would take a crazy player who is great at basketball, over a consumate professional who is garbage.

If KPJ can back up his tantrums with abilities on the court I don't really care. Star players in this league gets leeways, garbage players do not, he was garbage in the beginning of the season, but he is turning it around a bit now

I'd very much agree with your observation - Remember that's why they brought in Theis so Twiggy didn't have to defend true big's .... but it pisses me off when he's the only big on the floor and refuses to switch onto the opposing big man, rather leaving guys like Tate, EG, Mathews, Christopher & Brooks guarding them on the low block ....

Remember the video of Christopher telling him to switch onto Drummond - Wood refused, Drummond got an offensive put back over Christopher.
That was just the most egregious instance we've seen ... but there's been many many others and is the root of why this team is dead last defensively.

Yeah, against teams without a quality big man, Twiggy looks great ....

A lance has to be broken for players such as Green, Christopher, Sengun who are all younger than KPJ and have been role model citizens so far. Rofl.

He will be here for a while hence he would be under heavy scrutiny.

Those are two very different extremes, I don't understand why they should be the choices.

I say just let the guy play and see where it goes, he still has a year left on the contract.

All KPJ needs to do is be a solid second banana in my mind. While it would be great if he was on the level of trae young or Jokic, I think the Rockets are banking on Green, Sengun or their 2022 lottery pick to be "the guy". KPJ just needs to be more efficient and less turnover prone than he was earlier in the season and he will prove to be a huge get for Stone.

We will see how the playmaking/running the offense continues, but he always struck me as a 6th man type. You let him come in and cook with the ball in his hands.

The Rockets clearly are hoping he can learn to run an offense competently.

Cannot give credit to Altman on Stone giving away JA and failing to draft Mobley.

Altmann just took advantage of Stone's inexperience and pounced on an opportunity. He did not manipulate Stone to fvck up Harden trade or pick Green.

KPjr is our best player at the moment. He's already developing consistency. Wood doesn't play D or set picks, and Sengun is a youngin w/o minutes, and prone to foul trouble/turnovers.

Green just flat out sucks right now.

Now, this might change, but for now it's KPjr. Plays D 24-7 at a high level, cutting down turnovers, and hitting that shot more consistently. He's just so much more focused out there. Conscious of fouls...the whole bit...a quantum leap.

KPJ, Wood, EGo are clearly Rockets best players.

With Tate and Mathews a tier below.

Sengun will be Rockets best player, in time.

He just needs to curb his fouls and turnovers to earn coaching staff confidence. But his talent and production are obvious to everyone.

The moment being the context you are talking about. His last 10 games (especially 5) has been great, but objectively in the lens of the entire season to date he has been below average on this team.

Will he continue to shoot +37% from 3 like he has since returning from injury in late December? Hopefully and he was given the entire season from the FO to find out what kind of player he is. The arc of this thread is pretty much why consistency from a player matters. Growth is obviously important, but it's usually not linear.

Haven't you heard? He's had a couple of games where he didn't turn the ball over much, and scored ok.

    All is forgiven.

(that's how bad Tilman has taken this franchise... people are ok with someone like KPJ)
