He doesn't see that Senguin, a young 20 year old rookie, has more potential than Wood, a guys who scares nobody defending the rim. More like a a wet noodle rim defender who gets in an occasional block but isn't gonna stand strong against the BIG bigs. If he can't play well with Silas then find a coach who knows how to make that duo work or trade Wood.
Best moment in the game for me. Easily my favourite "dunk flex" of the season, I'd take many more of them instead of Wood doing it tbh.
Actually, he's 20 now, but barely. Just think how much he could progress in 5 years when he's Woods' age. He needs a coach that can see that.
Damn, that's REALLY young. I thought he was 20 too. I'm just concerned about his confidence, I haven't seen him smiling on the court, relaxed in a while. Basketball is suppose to be fun. He's too serious, he looks like he's thinking too much. Everybody know he can play, it's just a ROOKIE WALL.
He’s got the language barrier, the different play style barrier and a conditioning barrier. He has to be thinking too much. But he still plays hard, plays through his mistakes and overall is a net positive on a bad team. You take that imo
That game was the confidence booster he needed. I especially liked that he took shots without hesitation instead of doing that pump fake, drive that ala Parsons. I don't care that he missed those 3's and midranges. Neither does the D either as they were closing out on a sub-30% shooter from range. This is why it's so damaging when players like Simmons refuse to shoot.
My mistake. Geez, so he's 7 years younger than Wood! You wouldn't guess that by his playing. I'm so excited about his future growth, more than anyone on this roster.
More Silas on Sengun: “There’s more to it than just the spectacular plays that he makes. There’s the plays at the top of the floor when we’re a little bit disorganized. There’s the defensive part. There’s a lot that he’s good at, but he also has to learn." This should be really discouraging for Sengun. No wonder he looks rather unhappy these days. Silas not only incompetent technically but also at motivating the players. Rockets have the worst defense in the nba and Silas should look at the mirror to see who is responsible for that.
Right, the defense isn’t worse with Sengun vs Wood. In fact Sengun has regressed on the defensive side
I am a little worried about his D. I feel like he was playing better D in the beginning of the season, but he was also fouling more. Now it seems like he really don't know who to guard on PnR situations, and we give up a lot of layups at the rim due to confusion. It's definitely a team wide issue, but Sengun seems to be confused a lot of the times.
hes terrible defensively now theres no denying it btw can anyone help me find the league leaders rankings table in FTr ? @Bobbythegreat @D-rock @steddinotayto @harold bingo i think sengun may be one of the best in the league at it i checked already hes better than harden, durant, jokic, yanis etc but want to see a full list thank you!
He's top 10 in the league in free throw rate among players with at least 600 minutes played this season.
yes. Both the switches and double teams are problematic. In the Spurs game there was a possession where kpj saw a screen coming and just left his guy assuming a switch when he had nothing that forcing a switch. Alpi expected Kpj to follow his man. And easy open shot for Spurs. they don’t have communication and this is mainly a coaching problem. Rockets switching scheme is scary similar to the historically bad cavs defense from a few years back. It is like the players are told to switch everything because theoretically that is the right thing to do but have no understanding why they should do that or no practice in doing it.
SMH rockets letting a worthless coach destroy all their picks then people come and say with a straight face we need to tank because we lack talent.. no silly, you have talent and talent is everywhere, regardless where you pick, youre just not good at recognizing it and developing.. and no amount of new top picks will cover for that
5th in the league only behind THE ELITE...better than harden curry and durant,,, imagine if jalen green was doing this? hed be prooclaimed the next kobe already @snowconeman22 @napalm06 @ThatBoyNick
