Glad to see it. Shot looks fine for his mechanics, the kid is just snakebit right now. Staying and working on his shot is the right attitude to have but it needs to translate to production in game. I have been happier with his defense.... it's just that being horrible on offense is overshadowing any good he is doing right now.

Last year, before the draft, I was doing some self-scouting on the likes of Cunningham, Green, Mobley, etc. I saw a video of Jalen Green talking to Isaiah Todd (during the G-league Ignite season). I remember thinking what he said was a major red flag, but for some reason, I thought he had the talent and work ethic to overcome it. I stand by my recommendation of staying patient, but Green does seem to lose focus often on the court and this is now a real worry for me.

Anyway... see for yourself (Green's in the purple hoodie):

Hey Jalen, after tonight's game, you're gonna have to be Michael Jordan in his prime for the remainder of the year for anyone to even begin to consider you for ROY.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Rookie so terrible. Sengun and Christopher are both WAAY better than him.

Honestly this video makes me even more worried that the Rox only picked him because he shot great in his workout. All the highlights of Green, whether shooting or on the fast break, seem to be when no one is guarding him. Has anyone seen him do anything surprising that involves real game situations or BB iq?

Keep moving the field goals..... How does the 3 big lineup work without any shooting?

I agree it seems like a red flag.

Also, the clip illustrates the problem with the G-league relative to college basketball. While NCAA teams generally try to win, many G-league players don't prioritize winning. But if you don't care about winning, then how can you ever learn to do it? Green's experience is exactly the opposite of Michael Jordan, who said many times that the UNC NCAA championship was crucial to making him what he became.

He keeps working on his shot, but he needs help on:

    Dribbling
    Defense
    Passing
    Movement off the ball
    Shooting

    Just so much -

Like we have any other choice but to hope he works hard in the offseason on his game and body.

Mobley is a totally different player playing a more simplified role in his offense.

Jalen will get it with time. Seems like alot is in his head recently.

We blew it? Are we magically contending with Mobley here? Not even close.

The kid didnt wanna be here anyway.

You aren’t contending but you also don’t have anything to show for trading away harden nor using a pick so high for one guy and passing up everyone else.

Yeah but if a bunch of starry eyed fantasy draftnik bros relitigate it on clutchfans enough - who's to say things couldn't turn out different?

True, but how much better would you feel if was shooting 34% on 6 3PA?
