Both for John Wall works perfectly salary-wise and I've wanted this trade to be a reality for a while now. Boston needs a point guard with a higher ceiling than what Smart or Schroeder has shown and we need to break Wall's contract into smaller pieces.

It's great for us since Horford's salary is not fully guaranteed next year, but I don't see the benefit for Boston not knowing John Wall's health. I'm sure he is healthy right now, his conditioning is definitely not up to par, so that would take some time, and then who knows if he will stay healthy. He struggled to stay healthy last year.

I know Boston is desperate, but judging from yesterday's move to reduce salary and avoid LT, I don't think they are looking to take such a risky move, especially when it adds more salary, thus bringing them closer to LT. They are obviously not contending this year and may even miss the playoffs, so if I'm the owner (and Brad Stevens), John Wall does not make sense for that team (even though they need PG play badly).

    Very much this.

Gordon might get traded as a thankyou for being a pro.
Wood can be traded draft night or pre-season. I don't see anyone desperate to get him on board for anything more than an expiring and a 2nd rounder. The incentive for the Rockets to move him for that price is small - better to see how the ping pong balls fall in the lotto first - if we get Smith or Banchero then perhaps Wood is just getting in the way next year - but safer to wait and see unless an amazing offer comes along.

DJ Augustin might get some interest from a contender - perhaps a 2nd rounder or young talent in return

“If the Sixers don’t trade Simmons, one other move they could make is one that gets them below the luxury tax. They are $5.1 million above the tax when accounting for a set off the Sixers will receive on George Hill’s dead cap hit. Danny Green could be the cap casualty with his role diminished in favor of Matisse Thybulle. Offloading Green or trading him for a player who earns significantly less could get them below the luxury tax. His playoff experience and non-guaranteed salary for next season should make him easy to move.”

Get below the LT? Shouldn’t they be going all in? Thanks Tilman!

Toad Brown / Morley connection for the win. I can't wait for the typical Morey speech after the trading deadline. He better be careful, Sixers fans are not docile like Rockets fans :D.

The Lakers should shock the league by trading AD instead. At least he can fetch the Lakers a nice return.

They might just rebuild and trade the King to the Kings.

    I saw something about
    AD for Jason Tatum

I think The Celtics would be victims of the Opiod crisis to do that trade IMO

Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart for AD is pretty damn reasonable for both sides imo...sprinkle some picks in between. Have the Celtics throw in Schroeder for sh*ts and giggles.

I would take that over Tatum

AD and Tatum could do some damage

AD and Brown . . .is not nearly as powerful.

LeBron + Tatum would be a great threat
Esp if they can get rid of Westbrook

    I like AD but he is not a leader . . .
He is not someone to push the team
    Tatum would.

    • Chris Haynes: “League sources have told me the Lakers have reached out to the Kings about a Talen Horton-Tucker package for Hield. Still trying to make that happen. Obviously the Kings are like, ‘No. We feel like there’s more lucrative deals out there.’ The Kings are going to be active. They’ve got a whole bunch of people calling them.”
    • ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported Thursday that New York is looking to deal its more experienced players to make room for its younger stars. “In conversations this week with teams, the Knicks have expressed a willingness to trade some of their veteran players,” Windhorst said on NBA Today. “That includes Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, guys like this.”
    • The Cleveland Cavaliers might have eyes for Boston Celtics veteran point guard Dennis Schroder ahead of the Feb. 10 NBA trade deadline. “Today they were granted a $9 million disabled-player exception by the league for the Ricky Rubio season-ending ACL. They can use that to trade for a player with one year left on his contract,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said Thursday on NBA Today. “League executives believe a main target for that will be Dennis Schroder, who fits into that trade exception. Such a trade would potentially take the Celtics below the luxury tax and he could help [the Cavs] on the perimeter.”
