People on here really get confused on this, man. Like, are we not allowed to say how they have played SO FAR? Isn't that what this message board is for? There's a huge difference between talking about how the players have played so far, and then using that to project their entire careers. If I say Jalen Green has looked bad so far, that doesn't mean I think he'll be bad forever! You don't have to tell me he's only 19, I know he's only 19, and you don't have to call me stupid if he ends up being good next year. That doesn't mean I was wrong, not everything is a prediction, just a discussion of what we've seen in these first 47 games.

Barnes has had the worst January. I posted his stats , 11. 9 points.
Some Raptors fans freaking out. It's not just this fan base.

patience for rookies is almost non existence with sectors of fans. I kind of like watching them progress.

Sengun and 3 picks for a 6'6" 300lb 21-year-old who is already having foot surgeries?

Regarding Green and centerpiece possibility. A College analogy.
Being a #2 is like coming in a full ride scholarship.

    Mid semester freshman grade.
    • Against his own draft class B- or a C. Passing grade, but on a curve, somewhere in the middle if accounting for draft status.
    Future grades:
    • He could still make the dean list in his sophomore/junior/senior years.
    • Against future comps: could be a Beal or Lavine. Folks are asked to be patient, which is fine. But ideal hope is that there is some decent production during that rookie contract. Each year has different expectations, I think for his first year, he's still meeting it. But hope is he gives good productions for those 5 year rookie contract.
    • One the 15 man roster, Green is the 4th highest paid.
The trajectory of Beal and Lavine are not exactly the same. Whereas Beal showed enough for the Wizards to keep. The Wolves gave Zach up in a package for Jimmy Butler. Lavine didn't grow fast enough to be seen as an 'untouchable'.
    • Keeping with the school analogy, Lavine transferred senior year to a different school, and continue graduate studies in Chicago.
    ---------------------------------------------------
Comes down to expectations. If expectations weren't unreasonably high, you won't be disappointed this year.

Green was not the most NBA ready from his G-league days. Despite folks keep telling other people in the Mobley threads that his skinny frame is not NBA ready. (This is not @ any posters specifically, just a general comment)

When Green first stepped on the NBA court, reporters said how skinny Green looked to the rest of NBA guys. Most 19 or 20 years are skinny, I don't think we should ding a player Mobley or Green for this. They'll bulk with time.

If in the Green Gang or Mobley Mob, be a level headed person, give a guess and then let things play out.

LOL. I would trade Wall, EG, Wood and a first for Simmons and Harris. That makes Sixers deep. Wall/Curry/Thybulle/Embiid with EG, Maxey, Milton, Green, Drummond off the bench.

Our end game for a core would be

    Simmons/KPJ
    Green
    Harris/Tate
    Sengun

Use war chest of picks to add a big and fill out roster. That is an immediate play in team next season based on Sengun & Green's development.

I’d do that deal, too, though I’d like to keep this year’s pick. Anything else is on the table, though.

Actually he's had a couple of decent-pretty good games the past few days, including 1 with two monster dunks in traffic.
With Cade playing better, if Suggs suddenly starts "getting it" that will leave Jalen as the only 1 of the top 6 picks to not be playing well.

With Barnes his numbers have been down since Pascal Siakim came back, although he's had a few big scoring nights it's been an adjustment for him.
I don't think it's anything to worry about as he can affect the game in numerous ways besides scoring.
If the raps ever decided they want to get rid of him I would be "ALL OVER THAT!".

Jalen Green has already had a stretch of games where he was playing well…from 12/23 to 1/10, a stretch of 9 games, Jalen Green averaged 18, 3, and 2 on 44/41/83 shooting splits and 61% TS

Suggs is late to the party and has easily been worse than Jalen Green on the season…we will see if Jalen Green can have another good stretch

yeah, I’m sure he’s right on the cusp of being the best in the draft…only a matter of time

If Cade is Shaun Livingston, I guess Suggs is a mix of D-Wade and CP3 since he’s the best in this draft?

I have to question your rational in trading all of that for an overweight kid who already has proven he cannot stay healthy, and he cannot stay in a weight range to avoid further injury.

I could not think of many worse players to throw money at in the league than Zion right now.

If you re-read that proposal again you'll also find another ludicrous statement in trading for "Ben Simmons to play him at center".

How do you say no to Zion if it's something like 2 1sts (from Gordon/Wood trades) + Gup + KJM?

We are a fantastic trade partner for the Pelicans as we have a ton of ammo at our disposal. I'd even be willing to get rid of KPJ. It's all what NOLA really wants but I do think we need to keep Green/Sengun/and our 22' pick for the trade to make sense for us. I don't think any team could outbid us unless it's the Thunder but I don't seem them moving for Zion.

    ???
    Green
    ???
    Zion
    Sengun

all under 21 right now is a pretty tantalizing core. Tate off the bench is basically a poorman's Zion which could help us limit his minutes.

Watch Ben and Zion miss all year and watch Green leading this team to some record.

KPJ throwing hot soup at Zion's and Simmons' knee and those 3 gamble who got to handle the rock.

Wow that squad is going to be dysfunctional.

You say no to zion even if he would only cost a protected 2nd.

He already can't stay healthy and he's already starting to eat himself out of the league.

Giving up anything of value for him would be foolish

For those who think Zion is done can you expand on your reasons other than [insert fat joke here]? Like I get the injury red flags but the guy is also one of the most intriguing talents we've seen since Lebron.

Remind me how many games Joel Embiid played his first 3 years. Calling a 21 year old "done" is pretty crazy to me. If it's a (relatively) low cost I'm swinging for the fences and nothing in Zion's personality screams RED FLAG to me like some of the current players on our roster.
