[Ringer] 100 BEST RAP SONGS OF THE 2010s https://rap2010s.theringer.com/?_ga...wzWNMUDiEXr6TkC6XatBcCYg9JjSC9OceqRYJuZ6-GrWg Spoiler #1
It starts and ends with a singular song. Big Sean. And I don't listen to rap, so my opinion means nothing. But I think that song is one of the best rap songs of all time. The fact that it ain't even on the list and I've never heard of about 95 of these songs is a shame.
I listen to a lot of rap music. I have only heard a handful of songs from that list. Too much Drake on that list for sure and no Royce, no MM, no Vinnie Paz. I guess I'm just out of touch.
I'm interested in the demographics of the rappers on the list vs previous decades. @KingCheetah please get me a report by COB.
Interesting most of the top 10 (70%) were closer to the 2000's than 2020's and no song from 2018 or '19. Plus I hadn't heard 3 of them. Was surprised Drake's "Started from the Bottom" wasn't Top 20. Got plenty of rotation but didn't even make the 100. XXXtentacion has some good songs but the one listed I never liked. But it's more a club jam so that likely influenced Future's best song IMO is Wicked... didn't make the list although 3 others did. I heard most of the songs but nowhere near the amount from a 90's or '00s list. The older you get the less you care about music... and sports too for that matter
This 2019 track didn't make the list. Good beat, good flow, good vibe, decent lyrics, and good harmony. Most women who've ever been hiphop fans (I've talked to and experienced many), no matter age, would like it IMO and most male fans would respect it. Features a late-great Aaliyah reference
Damn that list is rough. I can pretty much count all of the rap I liked over that decade on my fingers. The Roots (2 good albums early in the decade and nothing since) El-P and everyone in his orbit (Run the Jewels, Killer Mike, Aesop Rock, etc.) Kendrick Lamar (3 great albums in the decade) A Tribe Called Quest (1 comeback album) Danny Brown (pretty consistent set of releases) Death Grips (had a cool experimental rap album called the Money Store early on in the decade) Kanye West (his last good album was released in 2010, so barely snuck in). Pusha T (personal favorite current MC) Czarface (carries the 90s rap torch better than just about anyone) I'm sure there's probably a few others I'm forgetting. Spoiler
