The Bills defense was so atrociously bad, out of position, literally didn't even look like they were trying to stop them. It's like it was the 1919 WS and they were paid off. The game legit looked rigged.
Nfl needs to make defense possible again. It’s a joke that in the last 2 mins of a game its largely the team that gets the ball last winning. How is it fun when you trade who can score TDs or FGs the fastest while leaving the other team not enough time to respond?
The Chiefs defense showed no basic skills tonight either, and yet when the game was on the line, they were let off the hook due to a coin toss.
The rules are messed up. But they are the current rules. I don’t think either team was stopping the other
Gimme a minute, but I really want to know how many YAC Hill had tonight. eta: not even counting the 45 yard punt return eta2: ballpark it's about a hundred for Hill eta3: plus Hardman and Kelce, etc...
True and most QB's would have folded tent and went home. Instead Jimmy G lead his team on a 90 yd drive in 70 seconds to make the playoffs and then leads his team to 2 wins in the playoffs as an underdog on the road. Teams with 12 + wins Now is just a win from a SB. Despite not playing well because of torn ligaments in his thumb he still came up big when his team needed him the most.
In the snow in lambeau. Rodgers had his chance to win the game and couldn't get the job done. He was not seeing open receivers.
What an incredible 4th quarter....and final 2 min. Insane. Both teams were playing that "open door policy" defense.
As a football fan this past playoff weekend was amazing. Not a single dud amongst them. Second, if the Bills were to of squib kicked it, how many seconds off the clock would of there been if the player just fell on it and didn't make an attempt to pick it up and run it. Two seconds..one?? Surprised they just kicked it off they way they did. Also you play to win, not to lose. Once I saw the defense on the first play, I knew they were going to give up the field goal.
Squib kicking maybe would've run off 6 seconds. Chiefs could've had better field position with the shorter kick, too. Hard to say what the better choice was.
We couldn't have had Allen plus Allen improved a crap ton from his rookie year, something he would have not done here
Clock doesn't start until the ball is touched. So you have two issues: 1. If the squib gets intercepted by one of the up men at the 50 or 40 yard lines or whatever, you've made life much easier for the Chiefs. 2. Most squibs don't make it to the goal line, so if someone gets it at the 20 and kneels, no time runs off the clock. It adds uncertainty to the whole thing. Chiefs had 13 seconds had to go 40 yards. I think the Bills like those odds in general as opposed to maybe gaining an extra 5-10 yards but also risking Chiefs getting the ball closer to midfield.
An interesting strategy for Buffalo with 13 and 8 seconds left would have been just to grab and knock down all the KC receivers at the line of scrimmage. You get a 5 yard defensive holding penalty, but eat up 4 or 5 seconds at least. Do it a couple of times and you run out most of the clock. Or just line up offsides and see if you can get an advantage sacking Mahomes. Take the 5 yard offsides penalty to make them run a play.
