1. We all hate the owner 2. Profit 3. The coach is a moron, fire him 4. Let's talk about the "GLORY DAYS" 5. Can we fire the owner? 6. Profit, remember the 90's? 7. This is obviously the coach and QB to lead us back to prominence 8. We suck, but remember the 90's? 9. Profit 10. Dak and Zeke, just like Aikman and Emmitt 11. He can sell the team, right? 12. This is OUR YEAR 13. Profit
We see what the bar is. It's going to take a great defensive effort from the Bengals to hold the Chiefs under 30. Can Burrow and the Bengals keep up? They were able to 3 weeks ago.
You could say the same about most of the QBs in the league, if that's the standard. But we do know that 32 teams evaluated Mills a year ago and no one thought that he had the traits to even be a 1st or 2nd round QB. So if I had to bet whether he'll be an elite QB talent or is in the pile of "everyone else", I'd pick the latter.
So Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Joe Montana, Brady and quite a few others didn’t have talent either because they weren’t first rounders?
Of course they did - they are extreme outliers in the huge pile of failed lower round picks. Again, if I had to bet, I'd bet on the latter. That doesn't mean it's not *possible* he turns into Patrick Mahomes. But again, you could say that about every QB in the league. Maybe Trevor Semien could turn into Kurt Warner with the right situation. But I'm still not going to bet on it, and if I have Trevor Semian, I'm not going to think "oh, maybe I have my franchise QB".
He’s shown this season a lot more than dozens of first round QBs. Tons of first round busts Checks every physical box for a new age QB, and has the pedigree of a number 1 overall recruit. It’s worth a chance to see if you hit the lottery
There are some QBs who have the god given talent and the system aligns with them perfectly and they have been setup to succeed. There are QBs who just have all the talent and are truly genuine gifted football players. Then you have the QBs who aren’t the most gifted QBs but they are very methodical in their approach very cerebral and I feel like that’s Mills. Will Mills ever have the strongest arm running ability most accurate passer?? No But with the right coaching can he be very methodical could he be cerebral?? I think so based on how he got better as he gained more experience. Then after the season he said he would love to do a more up tempo play style more. That tells me he’s getting more and more comfortable.
If the Texans hire Gannon it’s imperative we keep Pep. If we hire McCown and keep Pep that’s even better. Even just having McCown as a QB coach could do wonders for Mills if that’s what McCown is interested in he would just have to know and Gannon as well that Gannon is the long term guy here.
Ehh the Giants had two starting WRs that didn't have a single TD this season including their big FA acquisition in Golladay and Saquon just keeps getting injured as well. He hasn't proved to be worth the high pick that he was drafted at and then you got Jason Garrett as your OC and Judge as your HC, who no one liked. Jags don't have a good WR outside of Jones and Chark and with Urban coaching there? Lol good luck with that. The Bears do have Robinson, Montgomery, and Mooney but their coach was Nagy, who freaking sucked. So yea, Mahomes went into a good team already that was hampered by Smith's conservative approach and jump started it.
Golloday was a stud with Stafford. Elite talents like Mahomes and Allen turn bad teams to competitive and good teams to elite teams. Chiefs have no run game and no threats outside of Hill and Kelce.
Pringle isn't too bad; nor is Hardman and Robinson. Pringle has 3 TDs in the last two games at least. Clyde Edwards has been awful for them but Mckinnon did have a good role yesterday and against the Steelers last week.
Sure - but again, it would be hitting the lottery. I wouldn't bet money on the fact that I will win the lottery. The original post I was responding to was that Watson's value went up yesterday because there's only 5-6 guys that of that caliber that can carry you to a Superbowl. Assuming Watson's one of them, the list is something like Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Watson (add in Herbert and maybe 1 or 2 others). So my point was that unless Mills is in that caliber (unlikely), then the Texans are now on the outside looking in again with a QB that's in the "everyone else" pile. You can win with those kinds of guys - Stafford and Jimmy G are showing that. They just won't necessarily be the big reason your team is good.
