The impatience some of y’all have with a 19 year old is interesting. Anyone who is saying Green won’t amount to anything etc should not be listened too. You are oddly emotional.
Lol, who actually said this? Some random account nobody ever heard of, an account wholly devoid of gravitas?
There’s 3 other 19 year olds on the roster that people seem to have plenty of patience for. The difference is they weren’t picked with the #2 pick and they haven’t sucked ass the entire season.
LOL ROY and averaging 20 were some of the more modest things JGOF were saying. Search archives yourself. Start with @J.R. post above.
Some weird revisionist history for expectations of a #2 pick. When you pick that high you expect a franchise player period, especially when there was multiple ones available in a widely hailed historically deep draft. You don’t pump your chest because he may or may not be better than Corey freaking Brewer. This was a massive F up by management and ownership. True Rocket fans recognize this. IG groupies can think what what they want.
Who actually said it though? Like if that's the "more modest" thing, did someone say 30 ppg and all NBA? You could lay down a sick burn. If you could find that fool
Hold on. Weren't you the guy claiming that G-league Ignite is better NBA prep than NCAA? So who should win the ROY in that case if not Green? Cuminga? Or Nix?
How would you like him setup? I mean if we had CP3, where would you put Green to get success? I honestly have no clue, where he should get the ball ATM - the corner 3 should be the easiest shot to make - he seems to attack ok from the top, but not really is a facilitator - I dunno - he needs to find his place, I agree, he is struggling with where he fits. DD
Not even a season went by and some poster already calling drafting green a massive fked up, bust, etc. Not every fking rookie drafted at number 2 has instant impact. Folks who rant about how delusional some Green folks were praising him and have unrealistic projections, basically on the opposite side of the spectrum callin him a bust/ massive fked up when he played 30 games. We have time, if Green isn't the one we can always draft again. Imagine just a few months ago we were praying to even get pick number 2. I don't think we whiff yet, cause he honestly doesn't look as bad as dem anti green/Mobley folks btch and moan about. just find it annoying, we have folks having the patience of saints when it comes to the development of KPJ, a third year vet but when Green struggles, always acting like its the end of the world.
sure, but it's not too early to judge him against his peers in his class, is it? He's fallen way behind...
They are judged the minute they signed that contract and turned pro, if they aren't ready, they will get judged. Jalen's biggest problem is he lacks fundamentals.....he has some work to do. Him being 19 gives him time, let's hope he uses it wisely. DD
It's too early to judge what he will become, but it's not too early to judge what he currently is. Currently, he's a super raw player that looks pretty terrible due to a lack of playmaking skills, a poor handle, streaky rather than good shooting, no clue how to play defense, and a weak skinny frame. Now if he can fix all of that, he's got the athleticism required to be a really good player, but he's got his work cut out for him and it's unlikely to happen any time soon.
thanks btw BIG LOL at "Silas system is the real deal......CF's are going to find that out this season" bwhahahahahahahahh!!!!
KPJ was not instantly made a Rockets starter however. He had to actually dominate in the G League then actually earn his starter spot when he was eventually called up. And no one, absolutely no one, has had any patience for the development of KPJ. He has been the subject of multiple disparaging threads and trade threads. So let's put that narrative to rest. And that Green is a bust narrative also needs to be buried as well.
He is NOT a bust, but he is also not a good NBA player yet.....and for me, I expected a number 2 pick to be a lot further along. DD
