STOP IT! i am a vice president of jalen green haters club but he could be forreal one day...i saw potential that cant be unseen...HES JUST TOO RAW BUT imho hell be wonderful and efficient player one day if only silas dont ruin him...
no…in other words, he needs to get in the gym and work on his game he needs to get with a top notch skills trainer and start developing his game because right now his skill level is low
You act like we are trying to win. We need to trade Gordon and Wood and continue to get all our young guy minutes. Winning enough to get out of top five is counterproductive to the re-build. I don’t care who comes off the bench, but Green, Jaygup, and Sengun should be getting all the minutes their bodies can stand. After Wood gets traded, Garuba should get 10-15 mins no matter how painful it is to watch. Experience in all kinds of situations is invaluable and as long as they keep a positive attitude they should get their minutes. If they are dogging it then sit them, but as long as the effort to get better is there they should be playing as much as possible. Rookie development is paramount this year, unless you want to suck even longer.
Reminds me of the Harden thread. Harden exhausted against a good team, Harden goes off against a bad team
it’ll be all up to him…he’s gonna have to put in major work I’ve seen many guys come in with no bag, and now they’re super skilled like Kawhi, Demar, Lavine, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, etc Paul George had zero off the dribble game, and now he’s dropping off CP3 like an Uber Eats delivery
and all high level offensive players that play on the level of a top 5 pick so where they were initially drafted is completely irrelevant to what I’m talking about
Listen guys, he had a horrible game. That's it. If you think that was license to come in here and extrapolate your insecurities onto his future, you're wrong. Cade Cunningham is hitting sub 40% from the field and 32% from 3, to go with 5.1 assists to 3.6 TO's. He's neither a great scorer nor lead/point guard right now. Don't get it twisted, Jalen will be the best player in this draft. Everything we said before this game remains true, all that has changed is he had a shitty game and made 0 adjustments. He has to learn the lessons of one game and push on. Work ethic doesn't disappear, it's an endless constant motor that eventually outpaces everything else.
a guy like Bradley Beal has significantly improved his skill level as well…all those step backs and little moves he does to create seperation…he had none of that coming into the league Jalen Green still gotta go 100 mph in order to get a shot off or get to the rim
Cade Cunningham had no training camp or preseason due to injury…he is 18, 5, and 5 on 44/40/83 shooting splits in his last 21 games including games of 28, 11, and 5 against OKC…26, 8, and 6 against BK…21, 7, and 11 against us…29 and 8 against Utah…and he just had 25, 6, and 5 @ Utah last night forget the numbers tho, just watching them play will show Cade is significantly better…Mobley has been talked about enough so I won’t mention him Love Jalen Green, but what is the basis for saying he will be the best player in this draft aside from hope? I hope he is, but what is the rationale? Athleticism and Mamba mentality?
grouping him with players drafted well below #2 tells you right now he’s not a #2-level player in his class. That seems to be becoming the consensus view. That’s the reality. Whether or not he develops in the same trajectory as these other players, who outperformed their pick, is hypothetical theory for the future
It’s funny how the same posters who downplay Green’s good performances are the first to pounce on his bad games.
Ok? I also mentioned Bradley Beal. He was drafted #3 and was nothing special until year 5. Where so and so was initially drafted is irrelevant to what I’m discussing.
I just don’t know at this point what to think. There was a poster here, forgot who, who said his handle hasn’t improved since high school. If he was such a hard worker why is his skill so underdeveloped. Jaygup for example has a fadeaway, which looked very good… now he is told to lay-off of it, but he’s quickly developing other tools. Progress for Jaygup since Summer League is remarkable, for Jalen it’s zero. maybe negative. I just don’t know. If somebody came here and said, "that guy has been banging models and party-ing since the draft like Tyler Herro after the bubble”, then I would think, OK, that explains it,hopefully he gets it out of his system… I remember in school there were these kids who were working like crazy, extra homework, extra tutoring etc. and would still flunk their exams. Hard work is super important, but I guess sometime it needs to be channeled properly to be effective. I don’t know…
