Iverson's height was not meant for basketball but he was a great player anyhoot.

You bet he would have been better if he had the standard 6'5-6‘6.

That would have sacrificed some of this lightning speed
and maybe his handles would not be as brutal

I think Jalen Green showed you can be lightning quick but you cannot bulk up big time.

Ugh... of course Stone and Tillman are arrogant enough to think they can pull off another Harden trade. That was like a once in a hundred year trade maybe has never happened before in the history of the NBA.

Imagine if Philly had drafted Giannis, Embiid, and Devin Booker in three consecutive drafts, and Philly had to move Booker because they had no ability to pay all three players (or thought they couldn't pay all three). And at the same time because of Giannis Booker had been underutilized coming off the bench. Devin Booker becoming available in a trade, and someone trading for him would essentially be the Harden trade that Houston got from OKC.

Name me someone as good and of the right age as Devin Booker or Joel Embiid that is available potentially to trade for???

I don't fault Stone for kicking the tires, but boy you have to be a special kind of arrogant to think you can actually strike that pot of gold twice.

Good observation, that is true of the entire team. You can see the potential once they mature and figure things out.

Yeah the main thing is these players just aren't available. When i think of young up and coming, but "UNDER THE RADAR" players, not many come to mind. Darius Garland LAST YEAR would have been an example. This is kind of why you hear a lot of Tyrese Halliburton chatter.

De'andre Hunter is interesting but not that great, always injured, and seems to be getting worse.

Miles Bridges definitely fits a bit, but what can the Rockets reasonably offer for him? He's not so good as to give an amazing package. But I'd happily take him and salary filler for both Wood, EG and a future pick. But the Hornets wouldn't do that and they don't have salary filler anyway (I mean they have Rozier, but Rozier is somewhat akin to EG already anyway).

Desmond Bane, similar to Bridges. Would be super solid get, by no means a future MVP candidate though, and the Grizzlies are not trading him for a "so so" package. Sidebar - dang, Memphis drafts well. Bane, Brooks, Morant, JJJ, Clarke

Saddiq Bey would be interesting. But he can't shoot seemingly and again would the Pistons move him, and for what? Probably only for a real franchise centerpiece worthy player of their own.

Just working through the list of leaders from each of the last 5 draft classes by scoring and assisting... there's just not a lot. There's either the clear star players that won't be moved (unless they force it, which Donovan Mitchell might), or meh players. Then a small slice of guys in the middle - SGA, Miles Bridges, OG, etc. that are either too good still to be moved for a meh package, or too bad to move much for when the other option is to just continue to suck and use your assets later.

Also as much as I complain about how KPJ isn't really a PG, only 9-10 players in the last 5 drafts put up more apg than him at the moment.

Long story short - they gonna keep searching and not find anyone!

To be fair, we struggled with Simmons and the term franchise centerpiece worthy player for half of the pages.

We are fine as we are, we need to keep building through the draft and accumulating assets,

Right exactly and none of the guys on that list are NOT getting huge extension offers and few of those teams are in a worse state that the Rockets are to be an attraction. If it’s about finding a cornerstone who has high upside talent and not yet fully blossomed, dare I say KPJ might be a better bet that most of those other young players who might be available?

I think what Stone needs to do though is be willing to take on a veteran all star player that is undervalued like OKC did with CP3 a few years and the Suns exploited further. That’s why I’m not scared of playing Wall like Stone seems to be. The Thunder weren’t with CP3 and it benefited them and almost got the Suns a title.

My point is if Stones plan is to trade for these type of players then he might be better off staying put. I for one just wish he’d keep on tearing it down and just focusing on getting more and more picks.

You know....during those years with Scola and Brooks when we were going 41-41...I knew the team wasn't going to be relevant. But I also never believed the front office and ownership were completely inept.

That's not the feeling I have now.

That would be the ideal target to offer up Wood and if one of our young guys was really looking good (KMJ, Tate, Garuba, Jaygup). Problem is Wood is flawed and has attitude problems and NO likely isn’t ready to give up on Zion.

Wonder if Stone would do Wood, Tate, Jaygup and one of the BKN picks for Zion. It would take at least that and NO just completely fed up to start a conversation.

Zion is an unnecessary health risk at this point.

I agree. But then I remember Joel Embid's foot fractures, and thinking he'd never make it...
