Let's go back to birth gender for large scale competitions, maybe they can have a transgender only sub-category or something.

I have no doubt it is a biological advantage. I also have no doubt that biological advantage is a major factor in sports. We aren't really born equal. Life is unfair. It would be ideal if MtF and FtM both had their own competitions, but there just aren't enough of them to do that.

Some women are way more athletic than others. Biological differences exist, even within gender, race, etc.

Yao Ming is 7 ft 6 inches he is biologically superior to me standing at 5 ft 8 inches and can destroy me in basketball.

As I mentioned in another post. It's not a problem until it's a problem. When transgenders start dominating above their percentage of the population, then it becomes a problem. People aren't going to cut off their genitals to win a race.

There was a time when I would have agreed with you but anything is possible these days.

I don't know what the answer is but there "seems" to be an advantage if a male transitions to a female and then plays a sport against females who were born females. I do not see this as fair, as bad as that sounds I just dont see how they can compete and have a level playing field. But hell, I am over 50 so I am probably out of touch :D

I agree. The debate is an issue that the right is using to distract the public conversation. The better question anyways should be actually asking a trans athlete what they want, and what success looks like in their lives as athletes. I think you'll find the nuance in their opinion of what that looks like to answer a ton of questions here.... for a problem that really doesn't exist yet, but might be an issue in the future in 20 years... in college sports... not professional of course.

Nobody wants to win in sports in a way that lacks respect. Golf is the best example where you have ample opportunities to cheat but people want to know to actually get better at their game instead of shaving points, and they tend to want to hit at the mens tee in order to prove they can drive with the big boys.

So really anyone who is really worried about this IMO probably doesn't have a ton of experience as a competitor in sports, and those that do mostly are right wingers trying AGAIN to create a wedge culture war issue to deflect from the fact that they really are continuing to drive unpopular changes to our way of lives through governing corruptly, and enforcing their minority views on the majority of society.
