Things like this are so concerning for me. We continue to hear things like this from people on the outside and inside. How can we have faith that this front office is going to be able to truly work with coaches or anyone else for that matter. This screams power plays all over the place.
Yeah I think And none of them are amounting to nothing right now…I think omenihu only got in the game because Bosa got hurt
LOL. Does anyone hear this kind of stuff from players when they leave other organizations? Players leave teams all the time - you rarely hear them comment about how terrible they were. That twitter account reads like a Easterby account (coincidentally created in January 2021) where everyone is bad except the Texans. He seems quite obsessed with Watson, in particular.
Read the tweet again! It doesn't say that Flores believes he may have his choice of the best jobs, it says he "MAY BELIEVE" he will have the choice of the best jobs! Heck he MAY believe that the sky is green, the grass is blue and that pink elephants with yellow polka dots live inside his closet at home! This is just a case of someone totally making something up and posting it to get clicks! He's aptly named "fishsports" though because he's definitely going fishing here! Trouble is it's some "stanky smelling" bait!
“I can breathe again,” Cobb said Thursday. “I’ve seen the other side, and I’m excited to be back here and I’m smiling. It’s funny my teammates said you act like you just got out of prison. I said well, you know. . . ." ... “I’m very, very, very excited to be here. That’s nothing against Houston. Whenever I talk about that, I’m thinking of . . . Green Bay’s like a Fortune 500 company and the Texans like a new franchise; they’re a startup that’s figuring out their way." - Randall Cobb "Not each franchise is equal in regards to everybody loves to do their different thing," Mercilus said. "But also the mentality as far as from top down. I'm talking about tippity-top all the way down. Everybody's on the same page. ... When you've got the mentality like that, that you just know you're being appreciated and they're doing everything to invest in you and you want to invest back into that. To experience something like that is awesome." - Whitney Mercilus "Lot more structure. The leadership between coach & GM, doesn’t seem like power struggle. They’re on same page, have an understanding what they want and make it clear. ... It’s not a circus show here." ... Charles Omenihu on getting to 49ers after being w/ Texans: "Definitely a breath of fresh air. It's been a long year for me, personally. Didn't go as far as [I expected] early on. I love it [here]. The organization has a lot of structure. It's not an ego-driven organization." - Charles Omenihu So bitter they have to play for the Packers/with Aaron Rodgers Tyrann bitter he has to play for Andy Reid/Mahomes Charles bitter with the Niners Cunningham bitter with Vrabel & the Titans DJ Reader bitter with Burrow & the Bengals Hop/Watt bitter at getting out Houston while getting raises(Hop) Ingram/Roby bitter playing for Sean Payton Can’t wait to hear what Reid/Tunsil say when they leave too. What I’m wondering is why was that question even asked? With and upcoming massive playoff game I would guess the last question would come up is about the Texans. Some of this stuff is also narrative based, most know the Texans are dysfunctional so why does it need to continue be topic of conversation from the media from other franchises?
https://theathletic.com/3080547/202...ng-jobs-w****-the-most-intriguing-candidates/ Least appealing job? Stephen Holder: Remember how utterly dominant the Deshaun Watson storyline was at times last year? Now, imagine signing up to be the face of the team and becoming the person fielding the endless stream of questions on the topic. True, the Texans might theoretically deal Watson away this spring, but it’s not as if that solves their other problems. Chief among those: The roster. It’s, well, not great. And there isn’t a proven starting quarterback in the fold, either, so that’s another problem you’ll instantly inherit. You’d also have to navigate an ownership and front-office structure that creates all kinds of questions. This is the team that allowed Bill O’Brien to trade an elite receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, for a running back (David Johnson) who averaged 3.4 yards per rush this season, plus a couple of draft picks. And there are numerous reasons to be leery about the Nick Caserio/Jack Easterby combination leading the front office and, potentially, stepping all over the toes of the eventual coaching hire. I get that there are only 32 of these jobs, but, man. Lindsay Jones: This is going to be unanimously the Texans, right? Houston has the worst overall roster among the teams with openings (at least the Jaguars have a franchise quarterback), a history of drama and dysfunction among senior leadership, weak ownership and major questions at quarterback as the team continues to try to divorce itself from Deshaun Watson. The fact that Texans fired David Culley after the Texans overachieved to reach four wins last season is also a red flag. We should assume that whoever takes this job will have some sort of history with general manager Nick Caserio or senior exec Jack Easterby, but he should still be wary. Dan Pompei: The Texans, hands down. There are questions about ownership and management and the quarterback. The roster is probably in the worst shape of all the teams with openings. Mike Sando: Houston could be a terrible fit for an established coach unfamiliar with the New England ways Nick Caserio and Jack Easterby brought to the Texans. The ownership there and in Jacksonville is concerning. I’m not sure how much better the Giants’ and Dolphins’ prospects are from a long-term standpoint, based on their ownership situations. https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/01/20/nfl-head-coaching-vacancy-rankings 8. Texans Score: 4.3 Quarterback situation: 2 Roster strength: 4 Ownership: 2 Quality of living: 7 Cap situation: 6 Fan base: 5 I’m a bit surprised that coaches not in Houston’s insular Patriot circle are going through with the interview process after the team unceremoniously dismissed David Culley. It would seem this is indicative of how they view people, as interchangeable weather mats used to take a beating for a time before being ultimately discarded. In sticking with our policy to not discuss the Deshaun Watson situation until a case is adjudicated or a thorough investigation is complete, your QB option is the promising but green Davis Mills. We have written about Texans ownership here. Spoiler SELL THE TEAM CALHOUN!
These guys all talk a big game because they don't fit the culture of the team. They sure do have a way of talking negatively when they aren't in house. They are just jealous -JohnCPreppy
It's a bad organization that is TELLING us they are on the right track. We have no idea. Caserio did a good job on the draft. He hired a coach and fired him in a year. That looks bad even though it's good that Culley is gone. There is nothing indicating that the organization is in good hands with Cal.
It is simply amazing that one can come up with this reasoning after everything we have heard and seen with our own eyes.
If you ask the Texans about any of the former players I’m 99% sure that they will take the high road and not drag any players thru the mud.
Agreed and 99% of players asked about their former teams would probably do the same. So the fact that a number of players have spoken so candidly about their experience with the Texans should speak volumes IMO.
The Bears give their coaches a lot of leeway usually.... they have just hired some really bad coaches over the years.
