I'm assuming you aren't a fan of MLK? Because mistepresting his points for your right wing beliefs and excluding half his other message about economic justice for Black Americans probably means you actually probably don't like MLK.

...and we keep going backwards. I still don't understand how black folks can support and vote for the GOP when they do things like this.

I made this point in the thread about the investigation into who betrayed Anne Frank to the Nazis. The descendants of the man who did it might feel some shame about revealing that their grandfather / great grandfather was the one who betrayed one of the most famous victims of the Holocaust but that doesn't mean that they are culpable for that. It's a disservice to not just history but understanding the human condition to shield people from the what was done in the past. It's also wrong to consider that the actions of one's ancestors mean that you or your children in 2022 are guilty of those.

Consider if we take this law seriously. Most Germans are white so should we then not teach Nazis because some people who are ethnically German might feel ashamed?

For Japanese Americans even though some of their ancestors might've been in US internment camps any Japanese American's family who came here after WWII likely had ancestors who fought for the Imperial Japanese regime.

Or because I'm 1/8 Mongolian can I argue that we shouldn't teach about the brutality of Genghis Khan because it makes me ashamed?

I am sad that our ancestors treated the Indians and African Americans so horribly. I, however did not, so I don't feel shame, it is why I left religion always apologizing for **** other people did.

I am fine with teaching history and how poorly they were treated and when it was racism, talking about it, and how it has hindered African Americans and Native Americans as our country moved forward.

I am also in favor of helping right that wrong - but I am not ashamed of skin color, I am ashamed of greed over people.

We probably agree that this is unnecessary.

FFX loves to tip-toe as close as possible to the woke-derp threshold. It's pretty obnoxious, but their constituency is mostly a bunch of blue-no-matter-who idiots so this isn't surprising.

Edit: LOL at that twitter reply handle. "High school student against unions". Jesus christ this place is insufferable from both ends.

    This makes zero sense.

Germ theory was proven to be fact, and you need a hypothesis to get to a theory.

You are embarrassing yourself trying to be clever.

Do you even know what CRT actually is?

This is why we can't have nice things.

Did you miss THEORY in the title?

Theory often means "best explanation available after testing". The big bang theory is an explanation of the creation of the universe after mathematical and scientific testing.

Do YOU know what "theory" is?

CRT is merely an explanation of how current socioeconomic divides between different races happened using historical events and systems.

Dude really WTF are you talking about?

Do you know what History is?

History is fact, theories are not facts and CRT is a theory, not a fact.

    And I agree with CRT.

Gee, if anyone needed a perfect example of the insanity of anti-CRT laws...

CRT is History told through unbiased eyes about the effect it had on African American's and other races of people.

It is a theory in that it takes those racist facts and extrapolates out how it has continued to have an effect on them today - which needs to be further proven.

The problem is that all the grandmas and grandpas who threw Rocks at African American's being integrated into their schools don't want their grand kids to know that they did it.
