The offensive line needs to play better and Dell needs help on the perimeter. Houston's "Third Ward" defense is what has fueled its resurgence under Dana Holgorsen, and the Cougars are fortunate coordinator Doug Belk is sticking around after drawing interest from a handful of Power 5 programs. Jones' big-play capabilities on kick returns and in the secondary will be sorely missed.
Former Samford junior LB Trimarcus Cheeks transferred to Houston. Cheeks (6'2"/222) was the second leading tackler on his team in 2021, and his 2019 season saw him selected to a few All-Freshman teams. He's got the potential to make a difference for the Cougars despite the jump to the FBS for Cheeks.
UH ideally has 2-3 years of being very good at football… if they do that, they will surprise with the quality of recruits they start getting… the problem is their head coach doesn’t work as hard as other coaches, especially when it comes to recruiting.
Top 50 class is good. This is the highest rated class we have signed since 2016 and that was coming off a Peach Bowl win and final top 10 ranking.

It looks like Carrier was let go in May of 2021. I'm guessing that "I'm no longer employed at UH" tweet was not an update as much as it was clarification for those discussing his potential or current employment as a coach (WR coach at WVU in particular).
