I could buy your post if it was just Arians. Although I think he adjusted his system to Jamies strengths, Why? Because he adjusted to Ben/Manning/Brady/Palmer's strengths. I can’t look it up by I’m sure Carson Palmer, Peyton manning, Andrew luck and Big Ben all had a career high in picks with Arians as offensive coordinator or coach( at least in their first yr with Arians)

 

Arians in over a quarter of a century has never had any of the problems you're describing with ANY other QB he's worked with.

BTW, before you inject Arians and race into the Jamies discussion you might want to checkout Arians coaching staff and his history while he was in college. He was roommates with James Barber (Tiki/Ronde's dad) when he was one of he few players who roomed with a person of the opposite race. Barber and Arians remain close friends today.

watson wasnt deemed a threat until he led the nfl in passing yardage after the nfl i believe conspired to trade away hopkins, they thought watson would fall on his face and get exposed, turns out he became even more lethal. They did the same thing with cam after his first year in carolina( after he threw for 4k yards as well) took away rob chudsinski and paired him with andrew luck. Then traded away steve smith. Winston after he started his career off with two 4,000 yard passing seasons. They made up some story about an uber driver, then suspended winston 3 games which couldnt allow him to throw for 4k for a third straight year, winston didnt want to fight it and be a distraction so he settled( in my opinion he should have fought it, it was basically a he said, she said case. Look at how quickly somebody got to that instagram chick when antonio brown had the goods on bruce arians.. Bottomline is Deshaun watson aint settling, and he has the money( that he got from his contract with the texans to wait it out) we are seeing history, whenever a black athlete is accused of rape or physical assault they tend to settle and try to move on with their career. Watson is fighting this tooth and nail, and he currently has the resources to do so, all this stalling is doing is keeping watson off the field with the hopes with enough games missed counting this last season he wont be on pace to challenge nfl passing records. They want to keep those passing records all white owned

michael vick wasnt even that great of a qb, but because he sold more merch than brady and peyton, they had to put him away. If you read the case. Vick was never personally involved with dog fighting, it was his friends and associates. Donavan McNabb was a pretty efficient pocket passer on some really good Eagles teams.

And yes if Watson ran more, and didn’t lead the nfl in passing yardage he would still be playing( no scandal would have come up). The nfl getting deandre Hopkins away from Watson was a subtle hint they wanted him to run more. Watson in his last season starting, led the nfl in 300 yard games. The nfl doesn’t like that. Winston in 2019 led the nfl in 300 yard games despite throwing the 30 picks. The 30 picks weren’t even a bucs single season record. Eli manning has had 2 separate seasons with 27 picks, Peyton threw 28 before, Favre threw 29 in a season before. All of those 3 guys in the seasons i mentioned had more picks than td passes, and none came close to 5k yards in the year they had that many picks. Winston had 34 total tds and 30 picks and the nfl basically sat him down for 2 years because Winston had the most passing yards and the second most td passes of any age 26 qb in history. as for mcnabb, he wasn’t deemed a threat, he was like a poor man’s version of dak Prescott. He ran around a bit and made some things happen similar to dak. They also never gave him a reciever until t.o., and he made the Super Bowl that year. I was one of those who believed the beef they had was started by outside forces who wanted mcnabb and t.o. separated after they lit up the league that year.
