Face it barring some significant change in stance Watson will never play another snap for the Texans and I'm just excited to see what Davis Mills can possibly become and he's the quarterback that I care does well if he's not the answer draft a qb in 23 but Watson is done in Houston and the qb in Houston should be our only worry, my hope is the other 31 qbs in the NFL suck and Davis Mills turns out to be a stud

I favor QB's that run as a last resort, this has nothing to do with race. It's why I liked Jamies coming out of college over Mariotta. BTW, Mahomes is my favorite QB to watch play besides Brady.

You didn't answer my question, I really hope Mills is a better pro than Jamies. Why? Because Jamies hasn't won crap as a pro. Although he did have a storied college career. Like I said, I really liked Jamies coming out of college and his career has really disappointed me. I like his style of play though, pass 1st run as a last resort.

finally we agree on something. Because i hate running qbs as well, the nfl sat both winston and deshaun watson down because they were black and were accumulating too many passing yards at too young of an age

before jameis got to the saints, he had the 4th highest career yards per game average in nfl history. Right behind andrew luck. In the 2020 season the saints intentionally brought in winston at the end of blowouts, and told him to hand the ball off. which kept lowering his career average. I dont know what its at now, but it was way too high for the nfl execs to be comfortable with. Just found the list.. LOL jameis went from a career average of 274.4 to 252 in less than 10 starts with the saints. THAT IS INTENTIONAL, i bet they wanted to do the same thing with deshaun watson, but watson is smart, he signed his contract and forced the texans to put in a no trade. He had already built up enough cache to demand that. Got his contract then asked out( do i like it.. hell no) but it was smart, and at least watson was trying to make a power move similar to russell wilson( until wilson saw what the nfl did to deshaun)

jameis has started in the league for what 6 years( fran tarkenton didnt make the playoffs until later in his career)... jameis winston was in the wrong system, they basically said hey black guy, big arm.. boom we are putting you in an air coryell scheme a system that is proven to lead to turnovers( baker mayfield was in the same scheme) with the browns.

Winston this offseason( the clear cut number 1 rated free-agent qb) needs to go a team first and foremost with solid weapons like denver, or minnesota, and see if that team can lure pep away from houston to be the offensive advisor or coordinator.

Love me some Pep and he really helped those guys with speeding up their clocks reading defenses. They were always accurate throwing the ball though.

The reason Jamies lost his job was he set an NFL record for ints in a season.

We all know why Watson rightfully is being made to sit out this year. (Cant be preying on the internet for women)

This has nothing to do with race.

Throwing to WFV/Cooks isn't throwing to a bunch of scrubs.

As far as Watson having a great season, sure he put up numbers, but didn't win any more games than TT/Mills did this yr. Hollow numbers

Mills has a much higher ceiling than you're giving him credit for. He was the best rookie QB the last month of the season and because he's got so few starts in college, pro's he's got alot of room to grow as he gains more experience.

He's been with Arians/Payton, who have won SB's and Koetter. 3 different systems and he still cant find the right system. At what point do you start asking is it the player or the system?

koetter never sniffed a superbowl and brady didnt run arians offense to win the superbowl. Winston advanced stats were elite with the saints when he was starting. Winston was second in qbr and 2nd in epa behind stafford, and had the highest td% in the league at the time of his injury.. 15 total td's to just 3 turnovers in 6 weeks of play is elite, those numbers would have been a 40 td+ season and less than 15 picks. Winstons work ethic and talent were never a question mark, it was always about the boom or bust scheme he was in with tampa

as for brady winning with arians..

    https://www.joebucsfan.com/2020/09/arians-molding-offense-for-brady/

Last season, with Winston at quarterback, the Bucs’ average pass attempt was more than 10 yards downfield, which was the deepest in the league. Three seconds after the snap, all Tampa route runners — regardless of whether they were targeted — were, on average, 8.5 yards downfield, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

Both of those numbers have dropped substantially in 2020. The Bucs’ average air yards is just over 7 now (20th in the league) and receivers are only 7 yards downfield 3 seconds into a play (24th). That second part is particularly important. In order to see how Arians is adapting to Brady, we ought to consider what all route runners are doing, not just the pass-catchers to whom Brady is throwing.

Upon seeing those numbers, my assumption was that Arians was cutting out vertical routes — like posts, corners and goes — which his receivers ran at the highest rate in the league last season. But that actually wasn’t the case. Tampa is running slightly more vertical routes. There are big changes elsewhere, however.

In 2019, 5% of all of Tampa Bay’s routes were deep outs, according to ESPN route classification based on Next Gen Stats player tracking data, the highest rate for any team. This season, that number has dipped all the way below 1%, the second-lowest rate in the league.

Deep outs aren’t the only route group to drop off in usage: the Bucs have lowered their rate of hook routes (comebacks and curls) from 8% to 5% and dig routes from 5% down to 3%. Those might not sound like big differences, but in total that’s a sizable shift.

So what does Walder say the Bucs’ offense looks like? New England

winston was made the scapegoat of a faulty offense that creates turnovers

    https://bucswire.usatoday.com/2020/...opinions-on-jameis-winstons-future-with-bucs/

Former wide receiver Nate Burleson, said that he would not be surprised if Winston remains at the helm citing comments from coach Bruce Arians, “We can win with Jameis.” Burleson continued by saying that Arians “wants a quarterback that can sling it, and throw it down field.” As Burleson elaborated, he talked about calling the Buccaneers and Houston Texans game at the end of the season, and spoke to Arians asking him about the offense, and what he wants out of his quarterback. “If he doesn’t make the throw, if he hesitates, if he checks it down, even if there are two guys on one of our star receivers, I am going to yell at my quarterback,” Arians told Burleson.

Once again the media is not covering why winston threw 30 picks... they completely overlook arians is this situation( who told him to make risky throws). Arians also forced winston to play the final 5 weeks of the 2019 season with a broken thumb on his throwing hand, and torn mensicus. Just like arians forced antonio brown to play injured. Arians is a snake, and not soubt in my mind used some instagram model as a way to make what antonio brown said about him not true
