Manning won't be available until '26 so may as well ride with DW4 for a few years, trade him for a future 1st if nothing happens and tank in '25. Draft Arch in '26 with the #1, wait for Arch to demand a trade because he won't play for this embarrassing franchise and trade Manning and the DW4 future first for a 3rd round pick.
I'm not a Flores fan, but it would be awesome if the Texans signed Flores and still traded Watson away. Trade him down into the Mexican League with Trent Richardson. Yes I know he has a no trade clause, but I can dream.
Serious question....why wouldn't Flores...just...uhh...take the Texans job? Seems like the easiest way for them to be together.
Watson doesn't trust ownership here - he seems to want out regardless. Who knows if that changes if Flores comes, but there's a lot of bad blood on both sides, and Easterby is known for holding grudges and being vindictive based on the SI articles from last year. But beyond that, Denver (as an example) is far closer to being a contender and it's pretty much untenable for the Texans to roster Watson again next year, so if they work together, they have a lot of leverage.
One of the problems here is that until Watson's lawsuits are settled and criminal charges are off the table, there's a lot of risk here. Flores has to consider the possibility that Watson may not actually be available.
Yep would love this. Three picks in the top ten would kickstart the rebuild and would actually give fans a reason to watch next season. Clear the rest of the deadwood from the cap (Murray, D Johnson) and the following off-season you should make a decision on Mills and go spending big time.
You sure have a high opinion of Watson. Watson is talented, but a loser. Won just as many games with a rookie QB as with Watson.
Watson will be available anywhere else but here. This is where the lie started and where it will end.
Don't agree with what he did, who knows why young people with money and instant fame do what they do BUT he's not a loser. Watson has a National Championship to his name. And he was kn the verge of taking the Texans to the AFC Championship until B'OB decided to start coaching.
Not if he can't settle his lawsuits or ends up in jail. All it takes is for one of the women to not want to settle - if that happens, the lawsuit could drag out into the summer or longer.
Any chance we could trade Watson to the Titans for the Oilers history? At least we could have the best uniforms in the league while losing.
